You loved my previous Herringbone Accent Wall video, but a few people had some questions and wanted to see a few more details.
So here it is! The New and Improved version 2.0 of my step by step how to build a Herringbone Accent wall.
I'll briefly write the steps below incase you missed anything from the video.
HOW TO BUILD A HERRINGBONE ACCENT WALL:
1.Determine how much material is needed by measuring your wall, width X height, then divide that number by 32. This number tells you how many 4x8 sheets are needed. Then add 10%
2.Determine the size of your boards to be cut. Hallway=4"x16" Small wall 5'-8'= 5.5"x24" Walls larger wider than 8'= 5.5"x48"
3.Using 1/2" MDF sheets, cut your sheets down to either 4" or 5-1/2" strips using your preferred method.
4.Cut the strips down to the final length of 16" or 24" or 48" (MDF sheets come in 49" width)
5.Mark exact center on your wall, mark center on your board (see video for details)
6.Install first two boards at perfect 45 degree angle (see video for details)
7.Start assembling the accent wall (see video for tips)
8.Fill nail holes, and lightly caulk seams.
9. Paint wall with primer.
10. Paint wall with desired color.
Congratulations! You have a Herringbone Accent wall everyone will love!
