I give your dad mad props, for being 82 and still being able to move around as well as the does and for doing all that work himself, my father this morning was complaining about his body hurting and he's in his 60s. Your father is 82 and is able to do more than my father can or could in the manual labor department. God bless your dad, he seems very knowledgeable and handy, mine is too but in a different way, again God bless your father. Also that view from the mountain is freaking beautiful, if I didn't hate being around bugs so much and I lived there I'd literally just go up there to sit, relax, read a book, and take in the view. At first when you were talking about this video, I was like oh this is gonna be so boring, BUT damn I was wrong! It was so interesting seeing everything that your dad built, and hearing what he had to say about all of it, did he go to college for this? Meaning did he learn how to do all this stuff or does he just go off of trial and error? Either way he did an amazing job, he seems like a pretty nice person too, loved hearing him talk that southern accent is so cool.

I think it is so cool that your dad has the skill, determination, and willingness to learn when it comes to all this stuff! I definitely feel that is something I want to grow in, learning how to build/repair things instead of just buying whatever and throwing it out when it breaks. Thanks to your dad for showing us!!

Seems like every state has a town called Mt Airy. Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, etc... But the one in NC will always be the most famous. I was born in PA 1970, but grew up in Charlotte, so my entire life I've seen those signs-Mt Airy,Fancy Gap, Yadkinville, etc... on good old 77,which in Charlotte I also did drivers ed on. Spent the 80s on various sections of 77...NC was AWESOME in the early 80s! This video feels like Carolina Camera, with CJ Underwood.

Buy your dad a Coanda Sceen. Ive installed them on hydro systems and they just work. He can still make the trip to the headworks if he wants, but they don't take much, if any, maintenance. It would also simplify his headworks.

Mary this made my day. I miss the south so much and doing stuff like this. Hearing your dad was so nostalgic and relaxing for me. Something about older southern men, I just want to talk to them all day, the stories they tell and advice they give is UNMATCHED. My uncle is like that, and he's my best friend. I hope within the next 5 years I visit the south again, my heart needs it!

Go Dadaji❤❤ Oh my God Mary! I have to tell you the area around your father's house looks so similar to my grandparents village in Uttarakhand, India, especially the uphill mountain area. There we have a river and my grandparents used to have a watermill, used for grinding flour. This made me miss my hometown so bad😅 It's fascinating to see how similar it looks. You father is the best Mary❤ Take care❤
