Naquela cobertura de madeira na entrada do galpão, sem telhado se plantar jasmim, ela cobre e faz uma sombra, com flores e o perfume noturno.

Hi Jim, welcome to Brazil! What made you choose Brazil over all the other countries? Just curious. Brazil is a great country, you will love it more and more as time goes by, you'll see. Hope you get to see more of Brazil, travel to see more wonderful places like Iguaçu Falls, northeast beaches, Florianópolis, Bonito, Amazon jungle lodges, lençóis maranhenses and so on. People here are kind, the food is amazing, wonderful weather and nature. With time you will learn portuguese, no rush. Meanwhile, enjoy life!

Thanks for watching my video. I chose Brazil for a couple reasons. First my wife is from this area and our daughter and grandkids are in this area. I also moved here because of the climate and the country life style. Having grown up on a farm in Wisconsin USA I wanted to have property that I could create my own little farm. I love Florianopolis. We have been to some local places too that are very beautiful too.

I believe vinyl siding should be introduced to Brasil, just like drywalls were a few years ago. As well as roof shingles, since we don’t have issues with hurricanes down in Santa Catarina. Vinyl siding and shingles are better at preventing humidity coming into the home and protects from having bugs in the home also. HVAC Would be greatly welcomed too. It would be one of my dreams to pipe homes the way it’s done here in the USA.

We have been struggling with mildew from the humidity. We are making changes to how things are stored and water proofing things we can.

@@JimSmithBrazilIt would be nice if the house was off the ground by at least a foot. My parents did that at their house in Tijucas where they live. Their home was actually designed to be off the ground by a foot at least and with perforated cinder blocks at the foundation. This way , airflow down there circulates constantly and keeps it dry.

We started follow your channel today. We are enjoy every video. Thank you for share your experience. I know people try to go to another Country and they want to bring their way to live and build. I’m a brazilian living in Las Vegas, NV and I really don’t like dry walls houses. They’re unhealthy. …,…My son graduated in Bowling Green, KY, and I loved the way they have their homes to the point we bought 12 hectares and we are building a home the way we like. The Brazilian way. We are planning to move over there in 05/25. Can’t wait

The house is off the ground but the underside is sealed. So when we go from 40 or 50 degrees at night to 80 during the day everything is wet! You can scrap the water off the walls. 😭 But we are adjusting and making some changes.
