Welcome to our channel! This Log Cabin Project is a dream that we have had for several years that we finally decided to make a reality. Our goal is to build a tiny log cabin from scratch using as much material from our land as possible. We are building it entirely using hand tools (no chainsaw!). This cabin will function fully off-grid and will be only accessible by foot. Subscribe to follow our journey!
In this episode, we fully insulate the ceiling and gable ends using R14 batt insulation, a mix of fiberglass and mineral wool. We then cover the insulation with vapor barrier. We cut our big ladder (finally) and are able to complete the gable end cladding. Thanks to very warm weather late into fall, we are able to get ahead on our tasks and have time to start a new project: building a wood shed. We accumulate enough logs, debark them, and char the bottoms of the 4 posts.
We are learning a lot as we are doing (as always), so don't hesitate if you have any questions, it will be a pleasure to share tips and tricks, if possible.
