I bought an H500M back in Feb 2023. Out of the box mine already had the front glass panel installed. Nor was the tower packed in a grey carry sack as seen at the 1:47 time stamp. This is my 3rd build and will be a HEDT build. One thing I would have liked to see CM do is give the option to have either glass or mesh on the top like they did on the front.

The issue I've read with the front I/O is having enough ports on the motherboard to support all of them. The only solution I've seen to allow all front I/O ports to function at full capacity is to install a PCI-E USB expansion card. What do you think?

Definitely a good idea to remove the cooler master name and just have the hexagon shaped power button. One thing that puts me off CM products is I really don't like their logo, but a simple hexagon is really sleek. Shame they didn't do the same with the logo on the front of the case.

I just recently did a custom loop water cooling build in the h500p mesh. I will say, I think spending the extra 50 for the h500m is definitely worth it, especially since you are already paying so much for custom water cooling. You cannot mount radiators thicker than 30mm on the top with the h500p, but you can on the h500m. Also the front radiator bracket on the h500m goes all the way up to the top, where it only had holes cutout for 2 fans on the h500p. So trying to do a push pull fan configuration on the h500p is a huge pain, and you end up having to put spacers on the top fan so it doesn't bend (half the fan is on the bracket, half of it is off). Anyways, I think the h500m isn't worth the extra money if you are only aircooling / using an aio, but for custom liquid cooling, the h500m is definitely worth the extra money.

The case cools better with radiator in front with fans in pull config mounted to the rad, and then the 200mm fans push onto the radiator. I'd assume some of this is because the fans from the rad will be so close to your GPU+MOBO that it pretty much defeats any other load out, even if the air is slightly warmer than ambient due to it coming through a rad first. Also never use the top as exhaust on this case. 2 intake fans on the top centered is within margin of error to 3 intake fans, as with 3 fans 2 of them are doing very very little. One is exhausting immediately at the rear, another is losing 50% of it's pressure immediately due to the 200mm fan+140mm fan in front. 3 exhausts is awful. 1 is exhausting at a right angle to another exhaust (rear exhaust + rear top ehxaust) which is creating a dead zone and making those two fans essentially worthless. The middle exhaust creates a vortex that goes a little below the CPU. The third exhaust is exhausting the front fans, rendering two more fans useless. You're better off using no fans on the top of this case than using top exhaust. Go with massive positive pressure, it cools extremely well this way. Component temps are less, GPU temp is less, liquid temp is a lot less. *These are with h500p mesh temps, but it seems like nothing in the h500m should affect temps enough to make the comparison invalid. The new ARGB fans might be better optimized, as people have found better temps over ambient than the h500p mesh.

It's a cool looking case to be sure, BUT.........with the new front IO, it doesn't seem like you can really use all those ports unless you have a board that has 3.0 and 3.1 front panel headers, which may limit that market some, so check your board first before buying it. If your board doesn't support 3.0 AND 3.1, then probably just get the H500P Mesh. Dude...missing that plastic on the CPU pump block...........epic!

Just curious...I'm looking to buy the h500m, but I was concerned about the clearance for mounting an AIO up top. I was going to go with the Cooler Master ML360R, but the clearance listed on the site for mounting an AIO up top is only 43mm. From what I read I thought the mounting for the ML series was over 50mm including fans. I see not only did you get it in, but you also got it in a push/pull config. What fans are you using and did you have to do anything special to make it fit?

It's probably too late for you but I'm trying to figure out how he did that as well as I just bought this case and the AIO he's using. It looks like its the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R. However its listed as having 52mm in height with fans and rad. I have no idea how he got the bottom fans and the rad to fit underneath the mounting plate thingy but I guess it is possible if you only use a 240 aio and mount it to the middle of the plate with low clearance RAM

Well, seems that Paul is applying for the job of PC assembler at The Verge ;) A few remarks and a suggestion for the unidentified case builder (I like the fact that the name is nowhere to be seen): - This case looks awesome, the front and the top finally seem to belong and not be just an afterthought like in the other H500 series. - The case is too expansive (that, obviously is not my main issue) as is, could CM possibly make a version with an all metal side panel... The last thing I need is for people to see all my cheats when it comes to cable management. Also, why would you put an expensive glass panel in a place where there is nothing to see, aside from metal, and badly routed cables, in my case. Love the new design, CM please make a version with an all-metal back panel, and give us the option to remove the top glass panel for a more useful one. Cheers.
