Only thing I would change...and this is based on my experience of building many a coop...get a cheap scrap piece of linoleum and put on the floor before you even build the walls....helps SO much when it comes to cleaning! I also now wallpaper my walls with plastic table cloths...again makes cleaning a breeze! Otherwise I LOVE IT! especially the stained glass in the door!

Thanks! well we actually had a lot of problems with the chickens one was a killed by my wife's friends dog that she was dog sitting had no idea it would be that way , then 3 were lost to a bear that shoved the door in . I fortified the coop pretty well but Tina decided to give the survivors back and maybe start next year with a little better set up

Glad I found your cabin build. I’ve been wanting to do a chicken coop and glad that you describe what you do so well. Even the wiring for 110 was so helpful to learn that way. I will be watching the rest of your videos and then off to watch home wiring videos as I need to learn how to do more on my own. This helped inspire me that I could do it

Really nice work. I have built many coops and sheds. The only thing I would have done different is I would have gotten some cheap sheet vinyl scrap and glued it to the floor. It makes cleaning much easier. You don't have to care if it is ugly as the chickens are going to cover it in poo anyway. Great work.

Good morning there buddy how are ya? Oh man what nice lil sheds. You did an awesome job they both look fantastic. You mentioned rough sawn lumber. Those 2x4s look like dimensional sized lumber? Did you cut those with Dave’s sawmill? Your attention to detail is so nice to see. Most folks don’t put the strip on the joints, they just shoot trim over the corners and call it good. I really enjoy your videos!!! I’m currently sawing out a bunch of lumber for a couple of sheds and a lean-to off the back of my shop. Saw milling is Therapeutic as well as addictive. doing good thanks how about you? they are rough sawn but actually dimensional size. No I bought it from a friend of mine that sells sheds . that strip is pretty important if you want to try to keep anything out . glad you enjoyed it. some day I would like to get another mill I agree it is pretty therapeutic . you too thanks !

yeah I think so too . we didn't have very good luck with the chickens though . we had a bear shove the door in ripped 3'' screws out .. then took 3 chickens and ate them Tina felt so bad for them she gave the rest back to the lady she got them from . I reinforced everything so she might try again next year .

They got into our friend's trash, he built a very sturdy building they tipped it over, he placed a couple very big boulders at the corners and that round he won. Very sorry about the girls. An electric fence around the building might help too. Good luck with next try.

I think its pretty cool to get all these comments and feed back from people so I enjoy getting to chat with everyone . as for my German most of what I remember is the silly things our teacher would have us do . she would say fliegen sie um das zimmer und machen sie ein flugzueg nach . and then we would have to walk around the room with our arms out making air plane noises . I'm sure the spelling is way off .

Shouldnt you be attaching your planks at the upper part so that the overlapping plank covers the nails? Instead you were nailing the planks at the bottom which are exposed?

It seems like that would look better but I think if you did that you would only be anchoring the boards at the top which to me seems like they would curl out at the bottom when they dry
