Hey guys, thanks for another great and informative video! I have a few questions: 1. Do you only use Ignition as a Gateway and protocol converter,? 2. Do you normally use Canary Labs for visu or switch between Ignition and Canary Labs depending on the client/budget and so on? 3. Which extentions in Ignition do you need to realize this UNS? And - what is the (list) price for licenses? Cheers, looking forward to the next video :)

Hi Jorgen, 1. We also use other software protocol converters like PTC's KEPServerEX, Software Toolbox products, and N3uron. We have also used hardware devices like RedLion and MapleSystems gateway. There are many options here. Also, although it is called the Ignition Gateway, it is not only used to convert protocols. It is also, where SQL connections are managed, Ignition users and groups are managed, modules are installed, licenses are activated, etc. 2. We often use Canary Labs primarily for historian. Ignition historian isn't production-ready, not a "real" historian. We also use Axiom (Canary Labs data visualization tool) for specific use cases, ex: where controls engineer or maintenance wants to look at details of a situation that occurred, and find the cause of issues. We often create an iFrame in an Ignition Perspective screen and then display the Canary Labs Axiom chart or dashboard inside Ignition. We typically direct clients to use Ignition for real-time data and Axiom is used for historical data. Ex. What is current machine status (Ignition) vs what was the status of the machine last shift (Canary) 3. The modules we use are: Base module Transmission module - to send data to an external MQTT data broker (assumes we're not using Ignition Engine as data broker) Perspective module - for screens, pricing is based on number of user licenses...for pilot project 1-3 licenses s/b sufficient; for production installation recommend unlimited licenses: inductiveautomation.com/pricing/ignition Our experts would be happy to discuss any of these topics more in-depth with you, please feel free to book some time with us here!- calendly.com/matt-marvich/talktoanexpert
