Pro tip: when you're doing your CAD anytime you are doing a small enough piece that you could use a cereal box, It works much better than corrugated paper. It is much more precise and easier to cut.
@FlawedOffroad

Oh I use that kind of cardboard all the time. For this application I kind of wanted it to be able to stand up and hold it shape a little better which is why I went with the corrugated. If you watch my channel long enough you’ll see plenty of examples of both. I’ve even made gaskets out of cereal box lol

I dunno Dan. Wonder if it's strong enough? Maybe you should have gone with 9/16 instead of 1/2 inch stock. 😱🤣🤣 Nice work/video! Less than 2 months to Moab. 🤗

I used what I had lol. I ran out of 3/8”. Moab is looking very slim for me between not having PTO and being a long way away from having this axle installed and working

I'd definitely fully weld it. I've welded several trusses to axles and did gears after and have never seen any issues when I set up the gears.

Great video. Editing is on point for sure! I’ve had pretty good luck with my Eastwood plasma. Does leave some slag sometimes but the quality of the cut is usually related to how steady my hand is.

I know the feeling about the stray sparks burning the house down, i stop all hot work 45-60 min before im ready to go in for the night just so I can be sure nothing catches fire. It sucks when you have to find little things to do that dont involve plas, grinder or welder.
@FlawedOffroad

Yeah I always do that too, even that night. My girlfriend’s dad lost his 2 story shop with an upper apartment. Welded and a spark must have got in the wall. It’s even worse being an attached garage cause I’d lose my house too
@Bighorn_built

@FlawedOffroad same boat the garage is right against my kiddos rooms I have zero room for error on fire watch. I also blanket things that are likely to catch and then move the blanket after. Paranoid I know but it's worth the effort.
