metaspencer . . . Holy Cow...Wow! If you're not already a builder by trade, u oughta be! I've done several projects similar to this, and I was feeling your "pain" (overworked muscles and back) throughout the entire video. Especially the post hole digging. Kudos, my friend. Excellent work. You are an artist! :)

Fantastic build!! Watching for ideas to build our own, and so far this is my favorite design so far. The craftsmanship is phenomenal. Have you had any issues with critters getting in through your fencing? I like the look of this style the best.
@metaspencer

Thanks for checking it out and appreciating it! I've since moved away from the area where I built this one, so haven't seen it lately, but if you want 100% critter protection trench around the outside and burry construction cloth. It's invincible. Good luck!

Would this be better with concrete anchoring the posts? Just wondering how long the posts will hold straight without it
@metaspencer

that depends on your ground. this was a rubble-filled hard clay soil but in softer soils you'll definitely want to concrete in your posts
@XxBloggs

Why did you use 8ft for the posts?
@metaspencer
2 жыл бұрын
As I recall that soil was hard as a rock and I only got my holes 2'-3' down, so 8 footers worked for the height I was building. I wasn't going to buy 10s and no 6s were available.

Rabbits and rats can get right through that. Hardware cloth installed on the outer perimeter, bent in an L shape with half the L buried will stop rodents in their tracks. I learned this the hard way. Seems rats absolutely LOVE green bean plants and will chew them down to the soil. 😔
