The white plastic ring that came with the rear main seal is a tool to help fit the rear main seal over the end of the crank, to stop the sea llip from rolling over (its a reverse lip seal.)

I just happened to come across your youtube channel today boys, I really enjoyed watching you do your thang. I've always enjoyed my Holdens and Fords but I'm a Honda boy in heart despite having a range of rigs over time, but I never really got to play with my domestic cars because I have dick fingers and they've been my daily drivers. This has been a very educational and pleasurable watch and convinced me in the future as I continue along my Honda and KZitem journey to pick up a Commodore and play with it. Thank you gentleman. Have subscribed. Top knotch Aussie content, glad to be watching something homd grown whilst covid smacks me up.

Last week I thought whilst my motor was out “better replace the Chinese knock sensors with genuine” I ripped the seals like you did and also the sensors were spinning as they’re crimped together… One then snapped but luckily I welded a nut on and it came out. 2 min job turned into 4 hours.

Should of put a billet barbell before installing the remain. I turned my crank when bolting down the rear main plate, to help align the seal around the crack. Hasn't leaked for over a year so must have worked. You could do oil return into the timing cover. Put coolant temp sensor from passenger head to driver's head. Heat sleeve power steering lines near the turbo. Run a turbo beanie. I found the heat off the turbo would heat soak the billet rails after shut down. It was a bitch to restart if the engine stalled. Did you put sealant around the head studs? Because some go into coolant passages.

Is it like building a motor with your mum or your Nanna Nathan? Gold star for your tho Michael, you found the this way up marking on the seal realllly goodly. Let Nathan loose in ur fancy shed he wld produce epic content an builds even if it breaks it's good to see all sides of modifying cars. Cos everyone has had shit FK up on em. It's relatable.. No shit I really like SM carnage channel, some of the shit Scotty does makes me cringe but it's wicked to watch honestly. This build on the SS is a good one. It's a shame U guys won't get to peel the tyres off it or enjoy the fruits of your labor. The kid U been calling a dish washer is gonna powerskid past yas. ..maybe not for long but if it dies U know what the next step would be... More kws an gd content. Just saying. Why the Fk would you redo needle bearings? Go solid brass and not worry about revving out the needles!? P.S dis the same thing as you did with the knock sensor seal! hahaha easy mistake!
@damienhasleby8390
2 жыл бұрын
The upgraded needle bearing kits allow full rocker movement and use circlips to retain the bearings. Big improvement over stock less chance of them failing. Theres pro's and cons with going either needle or brass bush style
@BUZDRIFT
2 жыл бұрын
@@damienhasleby8390 The only benefit of the needle bearing version is that the circlips are holding em in, they've been known to fail just as easy as stock. Brass bushing will only fail if you have shit oil pressure! New pump High flow and HP with the Copo Camaro spring and you're sweet, and I've never had bearing washout with that ultra high pressure spring! Both versions allow full rocker movement! Plus both are just as cheap as each other.
