I love the manual control of "you are rolling on a table, and depending on the circumstances, the table changes", which is ultimately what both of these mechanics boil down too right?

I really do like that idea of one table that conditions then dictate what you can roll on it. That was slick

You should change something about the striker die. I got away with only one attack attribute for the Grand Adventures of tiny Animals, but only barely and it is not combat-focussed. What you describe sounds like one attribute being too good at too much. I made the same mistake with an attribute covering initiative, defense, movement distance and most of the physical skill checks like climbing, running, leaping. It was a mess that my players thankfully didnt abuse that much. But it had to be changed. You should either split it or shift responsibilities away from it. Looking at the attributes splitting seams the way to go.

That’s a good gaming group to have that didn’t take advantage of that god stat! I am going to split it. Not sure what the names I’ll use when it’s split, but I think it has to happen. Those are definitely different roles. Maybe Striker and Artillery?

@@jfacegames7354 Artillery sounds wrong, artillerist would fit better with the others. But there isnt any nice term for this that I know, most terms are very weaponspecific, like bowman. Fusilier if firearms are common maybe? Missileer if not?

I really, really hate that Skilled/Unskilled table in Strike! But that's just me.

I don’t like what’s on it, but it’s nice to have an idea of same dice but different results based on skill. But I agree not a fan of those charts

I also don’t want charts to be my primary action in the game cause that might slow things down
