I can totally relate. Back in the day I used to build custom kitchens in the clients garage. you can absolutely make them look as good as shop built with a contractors table saw and basic tools. if I needed a 23-5/16 cabinet that's what I made I rarely made fillers. I recently went back and visited an old client 20 years later and the cabinets looked like the day I left them. I now have a shop full on cnc equipment but the DIYer can do this for sure and you're not cut any corners.

I'm curious on what little things (like clamps or the right angled jig) you added to The She(D) for you to do this at the level you did. I don't see her already having a biscuit joiner for basic DIY. I did not have the biscuit joiner in The She(d) and went out and bought on… then wasn’t paying attention to the box (as it was the wrong tool in the correct spot) and so I almost walked out with a Hand Planer and not the Plate Joiner. Recently had a melamine project and used a zero clearance insert but still had some chip out that shows more than I'd like when edge banding was on. Finally got absolutely perfect cuts with zero chip out by raising blade just to do a 1-3mm scoring cut, then raising blade to height and repassing again for through cut... Was a little laborious dropping and raising blade with each cut, but a lot less than the effort and time to repair chip outs ;)

Everyone I watch, creators say biscuits are for alignment, not strength. If you need alignment AND strength, use a dowel or domino or something else like a box joint, lap, etc. Tamara at 3x3 Customers (creations?) has done a couple of videos on using a router to make the mortise and either use a store bought dominos or how to make your own “sliding tenon”.

I used to run a custom cabinet shop and now i'm an engineer for many cabinet shops. Woodworking has solely been paying my bills for 10 years. My first profitable business model was using very few affordable tools with high skill to remodel people's homes... Similar to what you did here. Nothing wrong with that. On another note, if you have the right blade like a 90 tooth -5 degree atb blade, then uou dont need to change your throat plate. Of course your throat plate will wear over time but if you just get the correct blace for the job then you just need to make sure the blade doesnt get too dull.

As a new subscriber I'm finding myself catching up on your content with my morning java. I believe that when you retire from Woodworking and Custom Furniture you'll always have a future in stand up comedy. Please take this as a compliment.

Great job working with backyard tools. It's said in golf " that it's not the arrow but the archer". Still wondering why you didn't get at least a new table saw blade. Guess you really like that lady...

Excellent adaptation to the situation. And yes, the gods of bathroom cabinetry require that existing cabinetry either be modified or removed for almost all projects. Nothing makes working with plywood more productive than a zero clearance insert. I still cringe when I think about all those years I thought blue tape would help.

It's truly amazing how it's always true that the cabinetry *always* needs to be removed.

The Rocky montage was worth the price of administration to watching this video, even if it is free to watch
