I think the touched up parking lines make it look more realistic. You could probably dry brush some oil spots. The new shopping center looks great! I was going to suggest that you make one of the suites a Good Will but then I realized it would be better to dedicate one or more of the suites to a sponsor of your channel. lol I can't wait to see more!
@TopRailroad

The oil spots is a great idea. But a good will is a perfect store. I plan to do other real stores as well but if I were to get sponsers one day that would be a perfect thing to do. Thank you!

EXCELLENT work! I've subscribed as I was quite impressed with the first video I saw (EP 1). I'm going to tear down the now useless unfinished Woodland Scenics Grand Valley 8x4 layout saving the underneath table that has sturdy folding legs and start building a new cityscape subway double oval (22" outside radius/hopefully as close to 20" inside radius as possible) with a crossover, two turnouts and a lay up yard of 3 or four tracks as I'll be running NYCTA subway sets only. A top layer of hardened foam will have the scenery (streets, buildings, vehicles, street lights, people) on top. All of that as a temporary layout until a much larger NYC subway layout is built in my hobby room of 11x11 along the side walls and back wall. Watching your progress is inspiring albeit what I'll be doing is quite different. Are you planning more than one RR grade crossing?
@TopRailroad
2 жыл бұрын
That’s sounds like a awesome plan, NYC would be amazing to model a layout after. It’s always cool to here others layout plans and ideas! I appreciate it though. In the end I’ll probably end up having 2 more RR grade crossings on this layout

do yo glue your buildigs dow or do they just sit there?
@TopRailroad
10 ай бұрын
I think 1 was just sitting there but I think I did very lightly glue the rest down with tacky glue. I only put a couple beads of glue so I can take it off easily without causing damage but if you know you’ll want that building there forever then glue it down proper

@ 5:53... actually the different colors of that lot look fine to me... it now has a random look to it as dirt lots like that don't have a uniform color to it... real dirt has variations in color, shades, light and dark parts and just a overall natural randomness that would be difficult to replicate by hand

I would use some kind of flour sifter or wide strainer to spread the dirt. Why not just use reflective yellow and white tape for the lines
