That's one of the things I hate about Sims 4 honestly is just the extremely stupid deaths for no reason at all.. like they try to add a new idiotic way of dying just to make gameplay "interesting" because they know the gameplay sucks. The murphy beds are amazing yet every single time you use it you have to wonder if your sim will die.. I'm fine with them like getting beat up from the bed, but dying is just too extreme in my opinion.

A luxury version of this challenge could be fun, like you get somewhere bewtween $10,000 to $20,000 or something ridiculous for each room and you have to spend all of it (with like $20 wiggle room)
@DoveJS
2 жыл бұрын
Ooooh, I'd love to see that! Especially since Kayla could have a lot more rooms than just the basics and two bedrooms. Well, at least one or two rooms dedicated to hobbies and skill building (a conservatory with plants would be lovely) plus hilarious if she added a super expensive laundry room (Deli did the regular version of this challenge sometime recently and randomly got like 10K for a thankfully large laundry room but it still ended up being ridiculous because the budget was so big.) 20K is actually kind of hard to do so it'd help to have bigger rooms as well, which Kayla usually avoids because they're harder for her to comfortably decorate. It would definitely be a nice variation on just doing a mansion and help her branch out a little more perhaps. (Though I have a feeling she'd hate doing this so she probably won't.) Would be really cool if she did this for a medium-sized family with multiple pets and some specific jobs or interests. In a way, I love how generic her builds are (good for just dropping somewhere like Newcrest lol) but it's always fun to see her tackle a specific narrative when she does something like this and increasing the budget would help. This could even let her add stupidly big items like the Microscope or the Cupcake Machine, and of course gym equipment or Spa day stuff, as intentional aspects of the environment.
@babybathduck

The entire point of this challenge is to get as close to the random budget as possible. There's no challenge if you get a high amount and then just... don't spend it. Fitting more/stupidly expensive items in a small space is what makes it fun!

There's nothing else you can put in there without making the room not function anymore.. where would be the fun in that? @sleepytoons2155
2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s common in houses in america mainly for aesthetics tbh, even in Texas where it can get REALLY hot we have rugs as decoration in a lot of rooms. It’s a way to fill empty space and have some extra decoration and can make a big difference compared to not having it. Usually you’d have them if you have wood or tile floors

@@sleepytoons2155 Oh, I see! That is interesting!
@DoveJS
2 жыл бұрын
@@sleepytoons2155 True but I think maybe it's a small sign of wealth to have rugs everywhere since they're kind of a pain to keep clean and they can be kind of expensive. They're also more useful in big open floor plans; smaller spaces look fine without them and cheaper homes/apartments have more carpeting though they might be moving away from that because tile and wood have been very trendy and the faux options require less frequent replacement than carpet. That's just my guess. I live in NC but my family and friends never had much in the way of rugs and in my experience when living with room mates, we only bought/inherited rugs in the past few years. (The fellow who got one had wealthier family who were handing off things before a big move and I made the mistake of buying one a little before that lol. Neither rug has been under our table though.)
@sleepytoons2155
2 жыл бұрын
@@DoveJS idk I think that also might depend on where you are. I’d say where I live it’s pretty common bc the houses can be pretty big even when cheap. It’s less common in apartments but in actual homes I see it more often than not especially in the homes of older ppl. Medium-large Families are less likely to have them purely bc they don’t want to risk their kids getting them dirty but I’ve also seen families who have rugs but they only put them down during occasions like thanksgiving or when guests are over. On a normal day they wouldn’t bc they have kids. Huge rugs can be rlly expensive but other than that I don’t think they’re that expensive here unless you’re looking for something rlly fancy. Like you can get nice rugs from a place like 5 Below or even some dollar stores or a Walmart. I have a white fuzzy rug under my desk and I got it for like 3 dollars from one. I live in Texas and most homes don’t have carpet anywhere but in the bedrooms. Apartments tend to have it but even that’s becoming rare. I think my point still stands that it’s still pretty common to have rugs in places tho for aesthetic purposes. It’s rarely out of practicality and mainly just for if a space requires one or needs that extra bit of decor. Same goes for house plants tbh.
@DoveJS
2 жыл бұрын
@@sleepytoons2155 Right, but you specifically mentioned filling up space and that made me think of a rug that could help fill up a room, which you can get at discount outlets. It would still be something around like $100-$200 on a good rug that size, and definitely more if it's a big room and a big rug, or as you pointed out, much fancier. So if you have a bunch of them in a lot of big, fancy rooms, it starts to add up. Those would also be more annoying to roll up and store somewhere lol (plus I've never heard of people storing their rugs) but then if you have big houses for cheap, that's definitely a difference and apparently the cost of living in NC is a little more expensive (but also, previously temperate climate so that could explain the building differences.) I'm just pointing out another perspective since even in the USA it's a little different per state, but I don't really know. I'm also just curious about other people's thoughts in other states and other countries, or even our states. :)

I think not using the entire budget defeats the purpose of the challenge. The challenge is that you have used ALL of the money possible for that room. That hallway where she had extra money? Add a table, painting easel, expensive painting, statues, rugs, expensive hideous wallpaper. Bathroom hamper, clutter, golden toilet, bathtub (obviously you would need a bigger bathroom), but if a room has a high budget you need to use ALL the budget. That’s why it’s considered a challenge. Even if that means it’s not functional or that it doesn’t look good, or has too much clutter.

You should do a challenge like this but where you can "bank" any remaining simoleons after each room and add it all up. Then at any point you get to spend that bank of cash to top up a room. Challenge is, you can only do that once, so you have to be careful you don't smash your piggy bank too soon (i think we just found the name of this challenge). Might need to lower the upper limit to make it more difficult!

I think the Floridian and Arizonian ideas of nice entryway tile are the same, forget everyone else's opinions lol They don't understand sand!

My apartment has cabinets above the toilets. They're high enough we don't bump into them standing up from using the bathroom but they're a hassle to be useful because there's a toilet in front of them when we go to get towels/medicine ect lol

I might be wrong but at 9:54 the random generator number goes up and then the jumpcut shows it being 838? I'm sure it's probably just to make the video more entertaining (who wants to see a chaotic challenge go smoothly lmao) but please tell me if I'm wrong

Would a "every room is a different number of tiles" kind of challenge work? Like random number generator going from like 4 to 20 for each room of the house....

Try to add up the left over money, so that you can “improve” or change the things you wanna change
