In this video Jeremy installs a new door for our goat barn. He takes a tarp from Harbor Freight, pulleys, and string to make a well insulated door to keep out wind and rain. The door is easy to use and roll up at night. We ran into an issue since the front of the barn is open as well and had to use a heavy metal pole to weigh it down so it would not blow open in the wind. We used screws on the side of the barn to hook the tarp eyelets to also add some stability when its down. This is a really simple DIY project that adds a little bit of protection from wind and rain for our girls. Our old pole barn does the trick but it definitely gets very wet in our southern thunderstorms. The curtain door has worked great to keep the stalls dry and will come in handy when the goat start kidding season.
