Awesome video! It really helped inspire me to hopefully doing something like this at my house. The only thing I would consider doing differently is buying a y adapter for a garden hose outlet and then using a quick disconnect at the hose spigot and then using a whip hose to connect that to the back of the cabinet by drilling a hole where you can put a quick disconnect coupler there. That way it is easier to utilize the faucet and it still remains mobile because of how easy it is to disconnect the hose. Then you only need one bucket for the wastewater.

Yo! Awesome build. Couple of notes: 1. You’re going to hate that grey water system, I know from experience cuz I build custom rvs😂. 2. Just buy and electric pump and install a cool lit up switch. 3. You may be happier just buying 2 30 gallon tanks because the grey is going to fill up quick and you will constantly have to clean it out. But at that point you may as well run extensions and just connect into the homes plumbing system for grey and fresh 😅

Just a fireplace guy here. In the process of doing my own backyard over. Couple of concerns. Traeger, who makes the grill ON THE FIRST PAGE of the installation manual, says 20" clearance to combustibles behind the BBQ. Kind of scary. All I'm saying is that I hope you read this. So, that's the first fire hazard I see, and I just don't want people to copy that type of stuff, it hurts the entire industry. Second Concern, On your initial intro I noticed the direct vent fireplace cap directly under your outdoor TV. The exhaust coming out of the cap is extremely hot 4-600 degrees F at least according to most manufacturers. I am curious if the television has melted yet. Typically you can't have a soffit or overhang anything within 18" of the top of the termination cap because of heat. Electronics and plastic. I can't imagine that made it. The real reason I bring this up is because as much as I am a DIY guy, over the years I've learned to at least consult a professional with my design. Especially when it comes to anything that can burn down my house. If you don't at least read the entire manual or at the very least the big bold ones that say FIRE HAZARD - Stay safe everyone. Owners Manual for reference: traegergrills.a.bigcontent.io/v1/static/2023_Timberline_OM_ENGLISH Who knows, maybe I just saved a family. So maybe not, just a fireplace guy. 🤔

Questions!: - instead of OSB and roofing felt, would cement board be sufficient under the stone? Also helping "fire proof" it. - Any reason not to do stainless steel door? thx for posting!
@masonb1100
2 жыл бұрын
I build grill stations all the time because I do everything landscaping outside. I have made something out of wood a few years back and it started on fire, because of the grease pan dripping. They recommend not to use wood. I now use steel studs and fasten everything together level no matter what the pitch of the ground is. Wrap that with dura rock, and it is super strong. We also make our own custom countertops with black dye in the concrete. It turns out amazing and it holds the weight really good. Never will be a fire problem or anything. Usually when using wood plywood or Osb you want to put tyvek wrinkle wrap behind it so when moisture or any water gets back behind the stone it just flows through the channels out. Otherwise with flat wrap behind it, I’ve seen stone pop off other peoples work because the water gets trapped. There is a bunch of different ways to build them but I just found steel 20ga studs to be the best and most efficient for me
