@@danielharris4965 well typically a wall is built with 16 inch on center studs, his are not, and since they are load bearing it might cause issues if he ever goes to a place that has large amounts of snow. there's also no blocking in his wall so his studs can possibly twist and bend. however it is a small structure so I'm sure it will hold together fine short term but he will definitely see some structural issues in the long run. the best case scenario is he learns from this experience and can avoid silly mistakes for his next one but seeing as he had no knowledge or experience in the field he did a good job.

This is super impressive. Most people either hire professionals or are professionals themselves. The fact you made a full house that is roadworthy from scratch with little pre-existing skill in building is absolutely amazing. This is far more impressive than any other tiny home I've seen. You should be absolutely thrilled with the outcome. It's amazing! I cannot wait to see the interior completed. I'm intrigued though, will you be adding a bathroom?

Great build for someone with zero experience and it came to life with the coats of paint and sidings. I do have to say though if in the future you build another I would recommend taking the existing boards that came with the trailer and even replacing them with pressure treated ones or sealing the preexisting ones and never use Particle Board for anything thatll be exposed to elements. Im sure others have mentioned it but its gonna fall apart. That being said I would recommend maybe taking it somewhere and seeing if you can at least get the bottom of the trailer resprayed with a line X material or even a POR15 to help seal it a little. Overall your video was great and your attitude throughout this whole thing was good. Hopefully I can start my build sometime soon and can travel just like you are. Be safe!

My belief is that making a wise investment is a fantastic way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (financial advisors). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books.

for future reference when staining: a painbrush works fine but its more rss efficient and easier to use an old tshirt or rag. You can also avoid paint brush streaks. Because the stain is so thin the fabric soaks it up and pressure releases it onto your surface

Is there room for a shower? Solar panels, tankless water heater and mini split would be perfect, though!
@lethiapage4767
2 жыл бұрын
@@minkademko2335 yeah you could prioritize one here. I have seen nice generous showers in Sprinter vans. They earn their place in the layout as you can store the toilet in there and have a private place for using it. You can also rig it for wet storage, such as wet laundry, rain gear, snowboards, ski jackets, surf suits...not to mention pets water, litter box etc. And if you don't want to designate hard space for it, you can do something collapsible using the kitchen sink sprayer and setup curtains in a walkway or passthrough area. And if you don't want that you can setup a shower on the outside of the structure. Lots and lots of reasons to consider adding a bathroom esp if you live there full time. For me the thing would be that recirculating system...a real game changer. Could simplify the whole design of a tiny space used off grid. What it does is collect used water from the shower, filters it in real time, and before you run out it is already cleaned and sent back up to the showerhead. So you could rig this up to a combination shower and kitchen tap, pair it with solar tankless hot water. Take an hour long shower using only a couple gallons of water and then cook with it, drain your potatoes, and then wash your hands with it. Until you consume it, it's reusable. So it would drastically change the comfort level and stress assoc with boondocking and watching every drop of water, also the stress of water quality in unknown places. Would also help with design and layout because you wouldn't need so much water on board overall. That's more pantry or closet space. Or room for your guitar.

Particle board, man your gonna have to replace that in a few years (possibly even 1 year) once that stuff gets wet it weakens significantly and with the spot it’s located in the moisture will just sit there so it’s likely to rot pretty fast. When you repair it I recommend you find pressure treated wood as the outer most layer. Then you should put a sealing coat/weatherproof and water proofing coat on the pressure treated wood to prevent water damage.

He gotta get under there and waterproof the poop out of it. Very important. What's under a house can be important as what's above it. And speaking of poop. He will need bathroom plumbing.

You're very good with your hands.. I would watch the finishing process, & you're honest about your skills.. Most men over compensate.. Down to earth & simple for those who struggle with small projects.. 🐰 You make young ppl look capable.. Good job, ignore the haters, you did alright😉

i've always loved the idea of having and living in a tiny home. costs less, needs minimal maintenance, and easier to clean. plus, as an introvert it makes it easier to use as an excuse to not have people over lmao

The irony is, tiny homes cost as much as normal sized homes used to cost because of the insane inflation we’ve had the last 4 years.

Freaking love this!! I love this entire motto. It's not the American dream to live and own big, it's to do and experience more. This is what I try to tell people, but I am not an "interesting person" when I speak on it. These are the types of people that save money and live in a very simple way.

I’ll be curious to see if you end up recommending some changes to the shell build once you’ve had the opportunity to add plumbing, wiring, hookups for water/sewer, etc. Looks very cool!

Absolutely love this! I've wanted to live in a tiny mobile home for a long time, and this is super inspiring! I may only be 15, but getting ideas now never hurt anyone, and if someone with no experience in building can do it, when I'm older I can do it too. (I have my dad to thank for getting me into this kind of stuff lmao.)

Dude, you did it alright! You're showing perfectly how you don't need to have anything planned out right off the bat but figure things out in the making. Sure it's no professional work but for the first try? Amazing! I love this mindset, just get started, everything else will show up and be dealt with on the way. That's how you get things done. And that's something I still need to learn for myself. I often say I will do this and that but in the end I mostly don't. Heh. But I'm on my way!

I have got to tell you David, I get such a kick out of you! Yes, I'm definitely old enough to be your grandmother, but I just laughed and laughed and laughed through all your videos. You're Building prowess blows my mind- especially for someone who's supposedly had no experience beforehand. You ought to be proud of yourself- I'm very proud of you! Yes, I even appreciate your puns. I used to be known as the pun Queen when I was young. So I appreciate a good pun. But you are actually very knowledgeable- very talented and a very bright young man. But the humor- that is definitely much appreciated. 😂 Thank you for sharing all your builds. I imagine your parents are very proud of you. 😊❤ Take care and enjoy. God bless you.

You know I've seen a lot of of comments here about certain material over others but he had literally no idea what he was doing and learned A LOT during this project. He hasn't learned everything, but nobody would build a perfect tiny house BY THEMSELVES on the first try. I'm honestly blown away.

This video went up 4 wks ago, and I'm thinking you're still in the planning stage for the interior. I can hardly wait to see what you do with it 🤪 I like how the critics are lambasting your ambitions. You did this project on the fly, and I commend you for the effort. I too was thinking that it will fall apart with the first rainstorm... Maybe if you find a good place to park it, it will last. I love your positive attitude! It's very inspiring, motivating, and thought provoking. Best of luck to you ❤️
