Ertl also made a John Deere 4430 and an Allis Chalmers 7030 kit. I still have my 1466, plastic, 1:25th model and the John Deere 4430. I owned 1066, 966 and a 1456 IH tractors; and when the dealer delivered the 10 & the 14 I put a chrome straight pipe on them. After they were broke in I turned the fuel-injection pump up. Kept all of my tractors washed and waxed. I am a retired farmer, over-the-road, truck driver (20 yrs) and a 31-yr, active (Vietnam-era) and Army Reservist; and I have assembled plastic, model kits for 60 yrs. I will be 70 in July; and I just completed a Monogram, 1:48th B58, Hustler airplane and I am now working on a Italeri, 1:35th, M-978, HEMITT, Fuel tanker (I retired as a First Sergeant in a POL/Petroleum-Supply, US Army Reserve company). Have put together many model cars and airplanes. Love listening to rock while I put kits together; and have been going to rock concerts since retirement (saw Cheap Trick & 38 Special in Ft. Dodge, IA last summer as well as two, Beach Boys concerts). Despise country music.

Thanks a ton for the review of this model kit as I was looking to purchase one to build! It's a real shame that everything tractor related seems to be 1/16 and pre-built. I understand the popularity in that of course, it would just be nice to have various model kit options and in 1/25 to match the trucks! Thanks again! Looking forward to picking up several of the classic Ertl kits.

Good video, thanks. I likes your comments about the kits you have. There is nothing more frustrating than deciding you want to build a kit and you can't find one. That's why I buy when I see it (if I have the cash) to have for later. I don't have a collection or "stash", just about 600 kits I have not got around to building.

Thank you! Thank you! Thanks Ben for making this video. I might be the only person but I'd love for RoundTwo to re-release this kit. As a kid in the 70's, I would ride with my dad in a 1466. Then in the 80's we got a 1486 and finally a Case IH 7120. I had no idea a disk harrow model was available. I'd love to see it. We used a 485 disk harrow. Anyway, last I saw, this kit was going for 300+ dollars. I don't know why model makers don't make more farm tractors. IH alone could have a 100 different type of tractors. No demand I guess.

I enjoyed this video because I have never seen that kit open and always wondered what was inside. I grew up on a farm and best friend and his family, just across the fence, used IH tractors. Always liked those shiny red and white rigs.

Ertl kit were in a league all their own. I’m primarily a big rig builder and every one I’ve build was just pure pleasure. So far I’ve built the International S-Series, Paystar log hauler, Transtar Cabover Eagle, Transtar Conventional Eagle. Each one is just amazing. While I’ve not built it yet, the Payhauler, holy cow!!! That thing is crazy.

I've messaged Moebius in the past about producing new tractor subjects under their license with IH. "Too little demand for for them", they said. Anyone interested in farm equipment/implements should express the want to them on their website or FB page.

Interesting review of what some might call an "antique" model kit. If I had one it would be hard for me not to build it.

They're still on EBay from time to time. I did a video on that too.
