That's incredible work! I'd love to see you tackle some moving dragonfly wings

I’m loving your videos! I am trying out making my own wings for a General Mayhem cosplay and your type of wings are the closest I have found to what i need to make. Thank you for these tutorials! I am struggling to find the right actuators for my wing movement though, I need just a simple, “Up down” motion, like flapping. Any thoughts?

Thanks! Flapping - hmm - that sounds like it should move the wings quick?

Could you combine servos for the fast movement with some kind of locking mechanism (maybe a toggleable solenoid) so you can power down the servos once the wings are fully extended?

That's an approach I didn't think of - it would require less reworking for sure, but I'm not certain I can pull it off in a compact space :(

Add a kill switch to the motors when they are not being used?

how doable would Briggitte be? Her Rocket Flail might be somewhat simple, but her shield would also be a cool project.

Awesome wings! I do have a question about your mercy wings, namely the dc motors you used to be able to move the wings to the side. I am not sure how strong they need to be to move my own built wings (with aluminium frame, pvc pipes foam and cloth)

If I recall correct, I used "70kg.cm" torque worm drive motors - the reduction on them is to 7 or 16RPM. I limited their range of motion with limit switches :). They don't need to be super powerful, just sturdy enough to resist the shearing forces. :)

@@Zibartas hello again. For the limit switches how exactly did you write the code for them. I am trying to replicate the mechanics of it and i got my motors to move how i want. However i cant seem to get my motor to move in the opposite direction once a part of limit switches are triggered.

@@Grimmjowking You need to look up how diodes work - and my limit switches are analog, they're not used with software :)

@@Zibartas can’t believe I didn’t think of that weeks ago. Feelin a little dumb now. Thank you that makes my coding a lot easier now.

Like and Subscribe I really like the idea of these wings that I was looking for how to make movable wings not just up and down but and move sides back and forward !!!
