In this episode, we're beginning the installation of our propulsion battery banks. The batteries are being placed in the forward port locker, accessible from the forward cockpit. We will have two battery banks that can be combined or used independently, allowing us to power either motor or isolate one if necessary.
Marram is a Dix 470 blue water cruising catamaran designed by Dudley Dix and is intended to cruise the oceans of the world. She is being built in Melbourne Australia and is the second 470 being built, we started our journey around 2014 and began looking for a boat - thinking about what we wanted. We looked at production boats & customs boats, in the end we fell in love with the Dix design. We took a few years to sort ourselves out and build our shed, during the shed building phase we worked closely with Dudley and Kevin (who owns EXO Marine), we choose to build our own CNC router and cut the kit ourselves, Kevin supplied us with the cut files and we were off and running in 2016.
