Hey there nice work with the enclosure. Im in the process of building an enclosure for my Onefinity elite Journeyman. Wait time is gonna be a few months so I have some time to plan the layout. Can I ask what dimensions you went with for the table top enclosure and if you were to redo it again, would you change anything?
@philipchristian9935

Great video. I was wondering if you have the dimensions for the enclosure. I have limited space in height for where I want to put the CNC so I wanted to see what is the minimum enclosure height I would need. Thanks!

Can you please share your experience after one year: how much did the enclosure help with the sound? Can your neighbors still hear the router? And what about heat im the summer? Did those motors have any problems while being inside the enclosure? Thank you!
@SeanEvelegh
Жыл бұрын
Hey, The enclose is definitely a good idea. I would hate using the CNC without it. without it, the router would be so loud and dust would be flying around the room. To improve dust collection, I drilled a 50mm hole on the top so I had air flow into the enclosure, otherwise it can act like a vacuum and ruin your extractor (It need constant air coming in). I haven't had any issues with the router over heating.

Great idea, I would however change it up a bit and make the casing easier to remove so I could maintain dust build up a bit easier. Other than that, awesome idea, ill probably use it once I purchase a cnc

I would personally do 2 colors. Grey for bottom and leave the "natural" wood color for top. You could go with black to match the wall too. Thanks for sharing. We're in the market for a cnc as well so thank you as well for your input on this particular one. There's a few other woodworkers I follow that have chosen this exact same cnc in the last week 🤔. Must be something about it that is catching the attention of ppl.

I received my Onefinity a little over a year ago and absolutely love it. Your enclosure is awesome and I may eventually do that to mine. I built my table where the surface will hinge in the middle to drop down and create a vertical surface to mount things to. ( I'll turn a vase on the lathe then mount it on the vertical surface and engrave my logo on the bottom of the vase.) I also use a spindle which is extremely quiet.

@@SeanEvelegh I bought mine from Amazon. Its a Huanyang which is a recommended combination. I've used a 110v 1.5kw 64mm spindle for the past year and recently upgraded to an 80mm 2.2kw spindle. Mostly just so I can use 1/2 inch shank bits. I've been extremely happy with the spindles.

I've had mine for nearly a year. I don't know where you guys are from. I live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and there were no customs or anything like that. I can't speak for other CNCs. But this one is made incredibly well and the limited issues I've had have all been my fault. But the customer support has been completely well supportive. Surprisingly fast to get a response and results . The machine itself is a little bit more expensive than similar alternatives but I think it was worth every penny to invest in a little bit more expensive machine. My biggest complaint after using it for a year or so is the software on the desktop It's fine but I think there's a couple things I would like to change on. It's expensive to run and utilize to its full potential. And maybe it's just me speaking but if it was something for just a hobby it would be harder to pull the trigger on but still be really cool. But I've managed to make a nearly full-time business because of it.

Paint everyting you can in white. You get older and need all you the light as possible. Especially when you use protection goggles. I have a X-carve and it takes all the light. A 40 year old person need dubble so much light than an 20 year old.

Using a computer isn't woodworking though. There's no way around that. It's clever, it's useful, it can help you do things you otherwise would need years of practice to be good at, but it's not woodworking.
@SeanEvelegh

I respectfully disagree, it's as simple as if you are working with wood, it is woodworking. There are lots of different techniques out there and it's ok if you work with wood in a different way. I've had 10 years of practice in woodworking and I didn't get a CNC to cheat.
