These tube connectors are such a great idea. These will have benefits better the all of the very expensive high end connectors I know of simply because there is less metal in the connection path. I've always used barrier strips were the both connections are a crimped and soldered ring connector stacked on top of each other so a brass screw is clamping the two together. Danny's tube connectors are even a better idea since with minimal metal he also achieves a greater amount of conduction area and at the same time in a radial pattern which is getting into quantum mechanics but is does make a difference. In the future I will use tube connectors and my main system will be modified with tube connectors.

@@gregorycollins3096 I'm using the PS Audio Sprout 100. It's a great little integrated amp that has 100W into 8ohms, & a variety of inputs including vinyl, USB, RCA and Bluetooth! Plenty of detail & if you don't have a good sub yet , you can use the Bass boost mode. It will muddy the mids a bit, but is far better than using a cheap under powered sub.. but for $600-700 is a killer starting point for great audio, plus it's compact and super easy to set up/use.

I was taking part of a military grade soldering course and they always told me to never put solder on the tip first. It had to do with the flux disappearing before it's doing any good. Also to never blow on hot solder to cool it faster because it makes it crystallize and become fragile. It's obvious military grade meaning being REALLY picky about stuff.

I always “tin the tip” of my iron like that before and after use. I mostly wire and swap components on PCBs but speaker wires cross my desk too. Maybe it’s modern-ish tools but I’ve always been taught to add some solder first and last to help prolong it’s function and life by keeping it clean. At these temperatures any contaminant will burn and deposit much like a dirty oven. The flux and rosin core burns off immediately but like I just said I think it’s more about maintenance. I always flux by dragging my wires through wax based flux for every job. Liquid flux is fine too but it’s just habit now. Flux is helpful with all soldering but essential on any post-virginal copper or when removing old solder.

I used to use a connector for RC that I would crimp and solder, I ended up just using solder after a while so if you ever want to reuse the connector, just heat up the connector and pull the wire but whatever works.

Great work, I always was thinking, what about the other connection from speakers to receiver? They mostly have binding posts, and thus wouldn't that compromise the whole point of the tube connectors being superior? Or is it enough to improve the signal while improving the signal only on the side of the speaker? Question from a total noob here, so please, do not be very harsh on me :)
@dannyrichie9743

Good question. It all matters. It makes a difference on the speaker end only, and even more of a difference if you replace the binding posts on your amp with them as well.

Bi-wiring typically causes more issues that any benefit. It depends on the type of cable being used. But dual sets of tube connectors can be used.

If it gets bigger than 12 gauge then you may have to wrap some of the wires around the outside of the male plug. The female end will support up to 10 gauge.

ok great , but i'm still confused , so it appears that you drill 2 holes on the back of your speakers and magically it some how connects to what i presume is the crossover inside. do i have that right , or did you leave something out where you have to take the speaker apart and solder 2 connections to the crossover and somehow run them to the outside. i'll tell you what really makes a difference in a 4 post speaker terminal , the sound or tonality changes when you connect to the bottom 2 or one bottom and one top or 2 top connections sounds crazy but it's true
@harryconover289

You can’t make a good crimp with those type of player the type that ratchets to a high compression is need to make consistent quality connections done right there stronger than the wire it’s self
