Speaking of "Darwin Candidates", I thought I might share a story about my family involving that: Growing up, on my mothers' side of the family, I should have had 3 Aunts, but I only had 2. Before I was born, one of my mothers' sisters was in a car in rural Georgia with a group of friends. This car crossed some tracks with a freight approaching. Don't know if all were killed, but my "to-be future" aunt was among them that sadly didn't make it. This took place in the late 40's, early 1950's I believe.

Nuclear spent-fuel storage "casks" I believe. Could be either empty or full.
@ClariNerd
Жыл бұрын
Probably empty since the full ones are usually stored onsite
@kennethhanks6712
Жыл бұрын
@Clarinerd617 Actually those casks could be loaded as much as empty as they are specifically made to transport nuclear materials. The shape, and other particulars of their design, is to minimize the risk of any material being released in case of an accident in transit. The caboose used to carry monitoring and control personnel and equipment during the moves.

@Todd Austin By any other name it is still damaging another's property. In this case it often obscures rail equipment reporting marks, operational and safety data, etc that the rail companies must go to the expense of replacing. Not regarding the subjective aesthetics consideration what odds that most of the paint used probably stolen/shoplifted since those taggers not getting paid for their efforts?

@Clarinerd617 Well, just to clarify, it is fact that the railroads have to expend much effort/expense to repair the reporting marks, etc data on tagged equipment (just notice how much has redone on such cars). As for the source of the tagers paint I merely posed the possibility but do YOU really believe ALL that paint is paid for just for "no remuneration" expression.
