Thanks for everything, Sam. You'll always be a huge part of my life. Listening to Lync, Love as Laughter, with Greks Bring Gifts in my earbuds at 12 years old, growing up to love music, even far away in Mexico and far from any tour locations. Hoping I can have the same effect on someone someday.

We shared a practice space on Capital Hill around '97 called the Chop House, if I remember correctly. I didn't have much personal interactions with him, except for one time when he told me about a Jesus and Mary Chain VHS he'd recently watched. Super nice guy.

Why is it that some of the most beautiful musicians have to leave us RIP Sam Jayne

From 2009-2012 we had a shitty basement practice space on Grand & Driggs in Williamsburg Brooklyn. It was right up the street from Clems bar, where we would go after band practice. I had no clue that the bartender I got to know as Sam was the same guy that I had heard thousands of times since I was 13 listening to "Forcefield" on Beck's One Foot In The Grave. By the time I found out I had already been friendly with him for too long to suddenly be like, "Hey man, I know you!" One night I finally brought up the album's inside artwork and how the pic of him holding that toy cassette player, wearing a crooked smile and rocking a necklace with some keys hanging on it had shaped my fashion sense at such a young age. We laughed about that cuz I still wear the necklace to this day. Little stories like this. Same had a huge effect on the people he knew and the people who knew his music. He will be missed but that music will never leave us. RIP Sam Jayne.

RIP Sam Jayne. We had an amazing, kindred connection...one that I will never forget. Weirdly Sam’s been on my mind a lot recently., even before I heard he was missing. Altho we hadn’t talked in years...a couple of weeks ago I was going through an old email address and came across several unopened emails from Sam. I am heartbroken 💔
