On a Friday like any other Friday, while the inhabitants of Sofia were going to study and work, we chose to go in the opposite direction towards the Vitosha mountain, an hour's drive from the city.
On the way to a monastery in the area, our friends Milcho and Yanitza explained to us the tradition of martenitsas, ornaments made of red and white wool, which Bulgarians give each other as gifts in March.
