I receive lots of messages from people about Bulimia recovery and 'how to recover'.
I WISH I could answer this in a one word sentence but the simple and unfortunate truth is that I cannot. Recovery is so complex and whatsmore unique to each individual that it is impossible to reduce it down to one method.
In this video series, I will be going through a number of concepts, ideas, harsh truths and realities that I believe to be of critical importance when you are trying to recover from Bulimia.
In video number one, I talk about the importance of getting used to feeling uncomfortable. Bulimia recovery is ANYTHING but comfortable and if you are feeling comfortable in eating disorder recover you are probably not doing enough to challenge your beliefs and/or your behaviours.
I am awfully sorry for the weird background noise in this video. I recommend watching without headphones for a more comfortable auditory experience and I will try and sort myself out a new microphone for next time.
Sending lots of love and strength to everyone out there who needs it.
Remember: EVERYONE thinks that they are going to be 'that one person' who can't recover. This is bullshit and if you succumb to this false belief then you face living a miserable, eating disordered, obsessive, messy life forever! I too thought I could never recover and in fact had my suicide all planned out, but here I am, several years later, rolling with the punches of life like a boss, never returning to my old behaviours of restricting my food in order to maintain an unhealthily skinny body (anorexia) or binging in a supermarket toilet and puking in a bin on the street on the way home (bulimia).
If I can do it, I truly believe that ANYONE can.
Hope you enjoy the video,
Charly
