Beefy indeed :) Good stand from the looks very stable. Most of the stuff I have ends up with Casters on the bottom, there's never enough room :) Great Vid, interested to watch.

Great stand, my next build will probably be a disc grinder, I just can't decide on what size disc and whether it should be flat or angled. How are you finding the 9" flat disc? Also what do you think is a good motor size?
@RedBeardOps
2 жыл бұрын
I have a link to the motor I used here in my disc grinder build video - kzitem.info/news/bejne/l25mvHqQcYaeZJw When it comes to disc size... I like my 9'' since I can use standard paper with it Also the flat disc has been working well for me.

Hmmm...I could totally see using this thing as a portable 2x72 stand since wife will kill me if i cover garage with grinder dust...roll it out lock it down grind away..

@@RedBeardOps I made sure when we moved to our current location to call my detached garage the "shop" and the attached garage the "garage". I just use this terminology to subtly and constantly reinforce the idea of what kind of stuff goes in each space. hahaha. I also randomly and slowly move family stuff from the shop to the "garage" hahaha. 5 years in we have two very nicely defined spaces. :)

hard pass. the design is wrong. 1 set of wheels should be mounted 90 degrees to the floor an almost touching them. The second set should have been attacked on the opposite side to a flat bar on hindges. 1 press of the a foot and all 4 wheels are on the ground. Released and the base sits solidly on the ground. This is a system that has been around for a really long time and is standard in most shops that don't have unlimited room. Really surprised you didn't modify this stand to have this system of wheels
@RedBeardOps

Cheers Greg. Seems to be working pretty good. I'm sure if it's ever an issue I can modify it.
