I have all his books and the Applied Ballistics program along with the Kestrel 5700, just outstanding! You can go deep with the mountain of research and information he has put into ballistics and with that information you can certainly become a better (well informed ) shooter. Oh and I don't work for them nor am I being paid to say this. Its just that after doing a lot of research trying to find well written books and especially a ballistics program I found Applied Ballistics to be exactly what I was looking for. I'm just a believer now.

Great intel. I was just trying to figure this out on my own. Had some test loads to figure this out. I’ll report back but obviously Bryan’s done my homework for me. Thanks guys. Erik, you’re spot on.

I like the part about weight. That helps a lot. Thanks. Bearing surface was answered for me by Howard. Yeah that Howard.

Ogive is the right way to go--I also sort by weight after that--every now and then you catch an anomaly that is way under or way over. I use those bullets for practice.

If your measuring base to ogive, why would it matter enough to affect accuracy? The bullet is seated from the ogive?Seems like weight would have more to do with it at long distances?... Thanks for the video....

+shtnrlse If there is a large difference from base to ogive, more of the bullet would be seated into the case which would affect pressures.

Eric...you go to the man that knows bullets! I have his book and software. But I am still confused about bullet sorting. 1 I have seen 1.5 to 2.0 gr variants in 308 180 gr Berger. What size bins .2, .4, .6....also do I then sort each bin in base to ogive. By bins of .001, .002 etc???? I need your advice please. I can't buy 10000 bullets in one lot to make enough for a match unless I can bin efficiently.
