A tribute to the unforgettable friendship between Ben and Bumpy, as seen in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
I've been working on this project since this past February. I would gradually put it together and then wait for Season 3 to come out so I could add more material. My goal was to create a simple montage; that's why there aren't any "over-the-top" special effects in this video. Just a white vignette filter and simple scene cuts, telling the story in (mostly) chronological order of events, as a song plays in the background. Why did I do it this way? Well... let's just say that if you know where this song comes from, then you'll already know the answer.
Whatever ends up happening with this video, whether lots of people see it or not, I'm very satisfied with it. This was a very fun and emotional video for me to make. I'm being completely honest when I say this; while I was making this video, there were a couple times where I got choked up and even teared up just by editing the video and playing it back to see how the song fit. Watching the final cut that you see here was no different. I've never had this happen before. I've never made a video that was so emotional that I cried from it. But why, though? Why did the subject of Ben and Bumpy hit my feels so hard? Why was my heart in this so much? Well, that's a discussion for another time...
Now that Bumpy's role in Camp Cretaceous seems to have been fulfilled, I'm happy with how her story ends (for the time being). Of course, there are still the events in Fallen Kingdom to consider in regards to Bumpy's fate. Did she die from the volcano? Or was she captured? If I could have it my way, Bumpy will be one of the dinosaurs that escapes from Lockwood Manor, and she lives out the rest of her life in peace. Fingers crossed.
I hope you enjoyed this video as much as I did making it. I've been trying to upload this video since June 5th, and I'm sorry it took so long. If I wasn't dealing with copyright issues (KZitem blocking my video), I was dealing with faulty video editing software (kept crashing). I've been trying to reach a solution with tech support for the past 2 weeks now. I really wanted to keep the part in where Ben calls Bumpy, "Bumper Car", but of course, copyright. Unfortunately, there was no other way around it, so I had to compromise. Eventually, I figured something out that could balance out the copyright and video editor problems. I did make a few changes and an extended intro for a personal, separate "version" of this video I made for myself. In both cases, the final video was well worth the challenges that came with it.
All the same, I'd love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to share them! If there's enough discussion from you guys on this topic, maybe I'll use some of your comments in the discussion that I hinted at earlier.
Thanks for watching and I'll see you next time.
