This is a great coffee maker! Have had mine for almost ten years until it stopped working. At the time, it was discontinued and I couldn't reorder it. When finding out it was back and up for sale, I immediately ordered it. Very very pleased! Although this version doesn't have a drip tray, if you have the old version, the drip tray from that fits fine (even though the cover got scratched but so what) The drip tray with cover is available from the Bunn Website (accessories tab) and costs $24.99. Enjoy! Thank you for the great review :)

Love, love love the Cafe MCU by BUNN!! My first one lasted about four years and was heartbroken to find out they stopped production. Unless you're an avid coffee fan you wouldn't understand, there is no comparison between a Cafe MCU and any other single-serve coffee maker on the market, BUNN is the best! I was thrilled when I noticed BUNN was making them again last year and happy to say my new machine has been making hot, full flavored coffee in seconds, just like my old one did! I enjoyed this review even though the reviewer isn't a coffee drinker.

Minerals are needed as the machine uses electrical flow sensors to know when the water you added is empty the probes are out of the water and that tells the machine to stop emptying the tank. Water without minerals (Distilled or RO) doesn't conduct electricity so the machine doesn't think you added any water and doesn't brew. Every few months I had to unscrew the top and clean the probes with my well water.

I've had mine for almost 10 years. I had to put it away a few years ago when I couldn't get any more of the little screen filters; ended up getting a Nespresso. Recently realized Bunn was making it again and my new screens are on the way! This was/is the best single serve machine out there - the only one that actually brews at the proper temp (200 degrees) and lets you use the amount of grounds you want up to 20 grams.

I’ve had a MyCafe for 9 years and LOVE IT! I've noticed that the temp has gone down to about 175F on brewing in the last year so I’m going to order a new one. Tip 1: I use Areopress filters to help with the cleanup in the ground basket. Wet them first, place them in the bottom. Make sure the sides are sticking to the side before you put in the coffee and your good to go. Also, I keep an old tooth brush to clean the basket and screen. Tip 2: If two or more people are using it, with ground coffee, buy another ground basket. Trust me. To bad they removed the drip tray because it raises the cup up and minimizes the spitting mess. I highly recommend it. Also, I don’t even use the other baskets. I use the ground basket, except for Kcups, for everything. Edit: Someone asked about taste. DELICIOUS! But As always with coffee it depends on the beans.

Why they use a guy that doesn’t drink coffee to do the review? He clearly doesn’t know why this machine does the things it does. The water attachment is for people who drink tea or need hot water right away for cooking etc, it’s the best coffee machine I’ve ever owned. It literally make perfect coffee every time. Amazing. I had issues with the screen many times and after they stopped making them (clearly the only design flaw) I figured a way to fix them myself. Been using this maker for 9 years. Had 3-4 other ones that were just horrible.

I wondered, too, why this guy is representing a coffee company. He obviously doesn't know much about the intricacies of brewing coffee. Waste of time to watch.

200°C temperature is over 400°F. If the coffee is 200°F, that's still pretty darn hot (boiling is 212°F). Temperature on mine, which is about 12 years old, was about 175°F in the cup. Hot enough to drink without burning your mouth! By the way.... excellent video... love the little sarcastic comments :) It's been a great machine. Hope I get another 12 years out of it!

I put mine on a timer. It comes on at 4a.m. and goes off at 11a.m. On the odd occasion that I use it in the afternoon I flip the bypass switch on the timer and it heats up quickly for use.

This is the best K-Cup machine I have used. I've had three MCU's since 2015. The first one went off the counter to my daughter. That first MCU replaced a Breville K Cup unit (with a multi-cup tank) that was purchased circa 2010. When they re-released the MCU without the drip tray, 'stainless' K-Cup holder, and stainless tray cover (as shown here) , I was able to find all three components at online parts supply places. So, I was able to return it to the design that was originally released.

Hey what is the stainless k cup holder? :)
@B17B25guy

When you view the vid, the K cup holder placed in this machine appears as a black/ charcoal plastic with the light gray colored unlocking button. On the versions prior to this one, only the upper portion of the holder is plastic with the like colored button. The bottom portion of the holder is stainless steel. You could most likely find a pic of a previous version that depicts this stainless holder.

I love this little machine. Missing the drip tray though. You can buy disposable little tea filters that fit perfect in the coffee ground basket for easier cleaning. To me the coffee out of this taste much better than the others I have tried. I think the temperature has a lot to do with it.

I still have mine from over 10 years ago, still going very strong with 2 ground coffee trays (filters are still intact), K-cup tray (rubber does come off, gotta be careful now else the K-Cup grounds will overflow), the pod, and the water tray. What I'd be most curious between the old and new model, if ECS can answer, is: 1. Is the drip tray from the old machine compatible to the new? 2. Are all the trays from the old model compatible with the new as well? Asking because in the case where mine is about to fail, I'd buy a replacement unit without a second though, this machine is perfection itself for my needs.

Just had my Bunn My Cafe quit after 13 years. Replaced it with a Keurig. I hate it. Going to order another My Cafe.

I bought a new one because the Bunn My Café stopped working after 9 years. I bought a new one from Bunn, it's good but sadly it seems the quality has gone down. The plastic is not a sturdy as the original My Café. I am going to keep it but I am very disappointed. Thanks to a previous review, I saved the drip tray from the old maker ; it's not a perfect fit so I taped it on with shipping tape.

Compared to my Keurig brand K-cup brewers, the Bunn seems to be vastly superior in build quality and it just works.

@Walter Lackey I've tried and did as per instructions on youtube. It still makes the same sound. I am thinking it might be something with the water pump. After the coffee is done and I wait for the sound to go away, I am pressing again the start button(after it was ready) and there is some more water brewing. After the water ends the sound is back. If I press again the start button, no water is running anymore and no sound. Thank you for trying to help me

I have had this for about 10 years as well and love the versatility. Why was this ever discontinued, especially with the kcup option and better taste than a Keurig? Why no drip tray with the new model? That makes no sense at all, especially when this coffee maker drips. I am sorry to hear the quality went downhill because my older model is quite sturdy and I may be disappointed with a newer model (glad mine still works). Why is a coffee and espresso gear review done by someone who is not an actual coffee drinker? Is this supposed to make it non-biased? Weird.

Sure beats spending $165 every 6 months to a year on Keurig machines! I also have the full pot Bunn because I tired of spending yearly costs on breaking machines! Bunn is reliable and many people report getting ten years out of their Bunn!
