I had a 1st year La Bourgeoise too, and the first two figs struggled to ripen properly off of it also. The next 3 were much better. HDA also did that this year... first 2 were not good, and the last few were excellent. I am located in the northeast though

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately HdA didn’t ripen for me this year. I struggled keeping it watered and it dropped everything.

Don't take one season results as being the one-all, be-all production for a variety - because if that honey fig truly had a better rain and sunshine heat, it would have more sugar. This means that the water drought (not enough sap flowing from the leaves to trunk to fruits happened, and heat dome dried out the fruit - leaving a less-sugary honey fig. TIme to wait for another season, properly fertilize, prune, and see what happens next year's breba and main crop.

Tricky business contending with the vagaries of weather and pests. Nice results, just the same. Thanks for sharing.
