Hi. can you please try to explain in future videos why you diagnosed something as no good/needs replacement. I love the content of the video, but I would also love to hear how you reached the decision to replace it. As you understand yourself, the first step in repair is to diagnose it properly. You do a great job diagnosing, but we don't always get to see that in your video. I believe it would help some of the viewers diagnose it for themselves as well. Great videos as always.

Hey Steve, thanks for the video you saved my life......got the new pump in (just before the cold weather) and it works like a charm. Plumbing Supply guy says don't use the round gaskets with the football gaskets. I used the football gaskets all is good. Thanks again for a very informative and well done video...God bless Steve

Sometime ago I did an experiment. There was this guy in my area who made his heating system himself, and then when it didn't work I went there and I found a very cheap circulator installed for 2 zones. When system turned on it ran normally, but right after it got in touch with hot water it suddently stopped circulating, but it sounded perfectly, and it did that everytime. So, I took it out and put in an medioker, not too bad but not too great circulator and the problem was resolved. So took apart the thing in my house one eve, and found out that the cheap circulators were made so cheaply, that there was no key on the rotating shaft, on witch impeller sits, it was kinda just on there, and whenever the hot water hit it, the plastic expanded and became too loose to spin and just the shaft rotated, but the impeller, as loose washer belt, just stayed in place and hanged on there. And that's why my friends you don't buy cheap circulators. You can of course make a dent i a plastic impeller and put in a makeshift key that way, but I don't know how would you make a dent in ceramic shaft :D well, nedless to say, stay away from circulators who are 40 bucks or lower.

I disagree with the use of double gaskets, when 2 gaskets are pressed together they will leak between, in this case it work because the "football" gasket seals between the pump flanges past the pump flange gasket ( so it does seal from that outer point and no water leaks ) and so if you were to disassemble it much late you would see that the inner gasket has let by.... I know this for a fact cause I have seen the use of double gaskets in this exact fashion in mechanical rooms that were very old, and the Iron Bacteria had formed at this exact point. So far this is my only real critique of any of the videos youve posted and I believe you to be very good at what you do.... Also Ive not heard "foot ball gasket " for Red rubber... I like it. :)

Hi Steven, I have a boiler that has four zones. Two zone on the first floor work fine. Water can't get up to the two zone on the second floor. Try bleed all air and so on still not work. I note that when I turn off the two zone on the first floor the pump sound a little weird. It sounds just like you block all the zone all together even those I still have the two zone on the second floor open. Boiler has a Taco 007. I wonder it's too small for it. The whole length for second floor must be at least 100 ft of pipe. Watching your video I suspect it's either the pump is too small or it doesn't work properly. Your help greatly appreciate.

Hi Steve, how do you know which pipe is the return without looking at the pump? I have no heat on my first floor zone as well, second floor is fine. A taco pump was installed by someone but the arrow is pointing towards the boiler (w/c we can assume that it is the return), but I'm not sure if he installed it correctly.
