I cannot believe that this video is still up. This is absolutely incredible. I rememeber seeing this over a decade ago and randomly thought about it today. Searched for it and somehow, its still up. Absolutely incredible. This is what I would call a video from the 'Old KZitem'

My deepest condolences. There is still some scrap metal there. I saw a new Yamaha that burnt up last year there was nothing but a puddle and a black spot in the snow. So much melted plastic and aluminum you could not even tell there was ever a snowmobile except for the handlebar support.

Was that due to a seized brake caliper heating the rotor and melting a fuel line? Almost happened to me. but i put it out with snow. Search "MXZ Brake Caliper Fix" to see how to remove and clean a seized caliper.

why didint you dump snow on it and put it out? theirs plenty around. or did you just panic and watch it burn? I'm puzzled, I'v seen plenty of sled fires and they wer all put out with snow, well their wer a couple in the summer that we used water on. but you get my point. right?

that's so true, skidoos are the best, well usually, my cousin has a yamaha and a skidoo, the yamaha caught fire becasue one of the drivetrain bearings seized and his skidoo also seized up on the same trail ride, we ended up towing both by lifting the up onto my bumper because the tracks didn't spin, i guess that's what happens when you don't change the oil for 10+ years

@Millard97 It most certainly will. repeated overheating causes head and block damage. It causes excessive wear on lub systems. it leads to excessive friction and that can and does lead to fire. amy oil leak due to warping can catch fire and you have a blow torch.

i have had a sled burn to the ground before, it is really hard to put out a fire in a snowmobile because it may look like the fire is out but is always burning in some little nook or cranny and flames back up almost instantly.

not quite, running boards dont flex and bend 3 inches when you get on the machine plus rearbumpers/ tailights dont have to be replaced if they happen to catch some snow. not to mention smashing the oil reservoir with your knee

TEAM GREEN FOR LIFE

the brake could have been dragging causing alot of heat to build up inside a plastic housing. add a gas tank, fuel lines, an oil tank, oil lines that i know are close to the brake and you have fire.
