Ms. Dionne knows how do that song in her sleep. She just chooses to give many outstanding variation of it with or without Mr. Burt (no shade) Besides, being also a consummate performer, she knows how to collaborate with other musicians (such as Mr. Burt) or vocalists and give what is needed or expected instead of drifting off into her own orbit as a solo performer. That's why she is such a beloved Icon when collaborating with others. Ms. Dionne and Mr. Burt know each other very well and what is expected of each other❤. It is not just Mr. Burt's way right here.

@@mariahwhitneycelinejanetmadona that did not have anything to do with it, Whitney did not do performances hi, you don't even know what you're talkin about, Bobby Brown had kept her up all night long fighting with her, Burt Bacharach if she could just do the show, and Skip rehearsal, and that she promised, she would be fine, and she would have been, but he said no, and she said koo, & I'm out, so Faith's was already there anyways, with her husband, so it wasn't this big act of God, to get her there two days before the show, not the day of the show, and they didn't even know if Dionne Warwick was going to do her part, because she had let Bert know, that she could understand, have been security escort Bobby out, he shouldn't have been there, however, she didn't appreciate the way he handled Whitney, because she know the real, and,she know that if they could get him away from her, and back in Atlanta, that Whitney would have been fine, like she said she would have been,Bobby had kept her up literally all night long biting, she left to go to rehearsal, she didn't bring him with her, and he just wants in, drunk, sitting down in the first aisle, and causing all of this ruckus, she was embarrassed as hell, not voiceless, orc high, and all of thesecountry stars, and other pop stars that you guys worship, are doing cocaine and, and getting drunk every other day of the week,y'all just refused to talk about them, the way you did Whitney, have you ever gave Faith or Garth drug test?????, So if you haven't, you don't know what anybody is doing, are for the record, Faith Hill could not sing better than Whitney Houston, EVA(as we say in the hood, not ever, but Eva) & in the year of 2000 at that, girl by, get your life dot-com, she had just finished her World Tour, that she started in 1999, the "My Love Is Your Love Tour", like what the **** are you saying?, really, WTF are you saying 🤷🏽♂️, can you just answer this one for me, how great did she sound at Aretha Franklin's funeral❔❓⁉️🤔

Every singer in the world, that's asked during an interview, before they became famous, who were their favorite singers, and who's that they look up to, and inspire to want to be the next of;?, The answers are always the same, 90% of the time, and that is, if they are black, its Whitney Houston, if they were white, it was Mariah Carey, (because people didn't know at the time, that both Whitney & Mariah were mixed, with b\w), but you ain't never, a day in your life, heard anybody say, I wanted to be the next Faith Hill, she really gives me hope in her songs. you never hear anybody say, anybody say that, when I first heard her redemption, of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", at😥 Um, 😥 I'm sorry just give me a moment, but when she sung by song timer at Aretha Franklin's funeral, I knew right then, what I wanted to do, an I wanted to be the next Faith Hill,

What a spectacle! This feels like watching Kennedy Center Honors, and yes, I remember the big fuss over Whitney Houston's trouble during the rehearsal. Burt Bacharach fired her, and Faith Hill stepped in. Queen Latifah was coming off of Living Out Loud, where she plays a jazz singer, and since then began her foray into singing standards. She topped this performance with singing I'll Be Seeing You for In Memoriam segment in Oscar 2009. That's another classy performance. But seeing these many music legends on one stage? Priceless.

This was a great set as staged by the Oscars producers for 2000 - Burt Bacharach is a lyrical genius - and Dionne - omg - from up in the shadows at the top of that stairway, belts out those first notes and, ompah!, she's the star of the show! - gracefully glides downs the steps, still staying on the song with exquisite perfection - elegantly walks to the center of the stage, brings the whole thing to nearly a whisper of a finish - and the whole audience is just captivated - incredible - bravo!!, Ms. D! :-) - thx so much for posting!
