There is no "good part" of the song, the whole thing is a masterpiece, yet allot of people forget that this song is also very emotional and sad, the song tells the story of Vergil and how power is the only thing he had left, forsaken and left behind, with nothing except power and his motivation for more power. Eva hid Dante in a closet when Mundus' forces infiltrated Sparda's house and Eva couldn't find Vergil, she thought he was dead, yet he was alive, forgotten, left to survive on his own, having only his will for power to protect him from danger, when Mundus took Vergil, he tortured him and turned him into Nelo Angelo, Vergil had trauma from the incident after Dante freed him from his Angelo form and those traumas turned into the physical forms of Griffon, Shadow and Nightmare, once they were destroyed Vergil's trauma ceased to exist thus no longer having trauma at the end of DMC5.

@Vini-zv3lr
3 жыл бұрын
Because it's a reflection on Vergil's life. The music starts off super badass and epic (like Vergil sees and portrays himself), but the ending shows the sadness that made him search for power in the first place ( the trauma from his childhood he hides deep within). It's pretty powerful when you stop to think about it.

I always view this part as a bitter, almost ironic reading. The song chronicles his life, so I like to think that at this point he's saying this to himself out of habit, trying to convince himself. "Bury the light deep within, cast aside theres no coming home, we're burning chaos in the wind, drifting in the ocean all alone" really isn't accurate anymore. His brother, a piece of his home, is back. He's not seeking power, he's just going along with Dante. He's not alone anymore. He has his brother, he has a son. He's seen how pointless his seeking of power was, how his trauma was blinding and controlling him. Sometimes letting go of those self destructive habits is difficult, and it's sad. You're leaving behind a piece of yourself, and it can be a painful if necessary thing. The version I always listen to has the accapella version at the start, and it really does come off as his genuine philosophy as we see him in DMC3. The contrast to later, where the words are the same, even the vocal performance is maybe the same(I'm not entirely sure if theres actually any difference), but it feels so different. Vergil sounds the same, talks the same at the end of DMC 5, but he feels different. This song is really fucking good y'all
