In this video we see some buses at Oakleigh in Melbourne's inner southeast. Recorded in June 2013 it was a vastly different time in Melbourne's bus scene. It was a time when bus companies were still wearing their own liveries, when Driver Buslines was still operating route service, Eastrans were still Eastrans, when Grenda/Ventura was still using high floor buses, and when Ventura/National Bus Company was still operating most of Melbourne's Smartbus routes.
Since filming this video a number of things have changed. Driver Buslines sold their route services CDC, who incorporated them into their Eastrans operations in July 2013; now rebranded into CDC Melbourne. Ventura/National Bus Company lost the government-owned metropolitan bus franchise, and now most Smartbus routes are operated by Transdev. Transdev has a preference for running Volgren & Custom Coaches bodied Scania & Volvo buses on the 903 instead of the Designline bodied MAN's. Ventura no longer runs high floor buses on route service, and most Melbourne buses now wear the orange PTV livery.
