So, I’m alone in my office, wife and kids are asleep, I’m tripping on some good, going down memory lane. Feeling grateful to still be here. We’ve all come a long way.

What Bush does better than a lot of new bands, they know how to use the bass player properly, for low notes and adding rhythm to the drums. The guitar covers mids and high notes not low registers. The song may be too simple in terms of creativity but who cares its all about the melody not how many random scales you can play in 20 seconds or less.
@StringQueen_

The Offspring do a pretty good job with the bass too. The don't hide it behind all the other instruments, they let it come out and shine.

I know it's been 8 years lol, but the problem with new rock and bass parts is the low tunings so many use, the guitar is operating in the bass frequencies and there's just no place for the bass, eq wise. Plus the types of songs also, but mainly there's just nowhere to put the bass, the guitars are so damn big. Too big sometimes, too dominant.

Agree. Ever since Gavin's solo album Bush's music has become more poppy. Not expecting another Sixteen Stone or Razorblade Suitcase but hoping that this album is better than the last one that's for sure. So far if this is an indicator of what the album will be like I'm not sure what to think...

Good Song! Agreed that it's a bit simple and perhaps not the best reflection of RazorBlade or Sixteen Stone days, but that was like 20yrs ago. Adapt and Change for the Day and Age! I wish the drums developed a bit more in this song as something is screaming out for variation or build up. This could be their 'Glycerine' style track, the one song which is easy listening and everyone will sing along to when performed LIVE. If you've heard their cover of 'Landslide' the lyrics "But time makes you bolder, even children get older And I'm getting older too", to me reflects Bush and Gavin's reality or maturity. I'm 28 now and I'm sure all of us fans have matured and changed musical taste in someway over the years. U may agree or disagree. So is the artwork meant to be 'Infinity'?

Well said. We are not going to get another 'Sixteen Stone'. It's not going to happen. The people complaining about this song.....probably haven't heard the entire album. These "fans" probably haven't bought the album. I think that they would be surprised. Maybe not. I happen to really like this song. But then again.....I'm not a major music snob.....thinking that bands don't adapt over time. Sorry.....but you are tricking yourself if you think that Gavin is going to put an album together for you, me, and a handful of other people. There's nothing wrong with this single or this album.

Not what I was hoping for. Decent track but I hope we get some Pre-Wanderlust Bush tracks. Ever since Gavin's solo album they've softened up. Not expecting another Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase as no one should but just hope we get a few aggressive sounding tracks from the earlier days in the mix as well.

A decent track. It took be a while to take a liking to this song, but I like the lyrics. Yes, it has more of a pop sound to it but I think it still sounds good, especially with the Bush vocals. I like that Bush is still around and making music. Their older / grunge style music will always be the most popular I think, but some of their newer stuff also has a good sound to it. As one of the other comments here stated, bands need to evolve and try different things from time to time. So overall, a good release in my opinion. Part of me thinks I'm crazy for liking it, but I actually really like this song. Seether has released songs which have a similar sound, and it works for them as well.

The chorus is a bit bland, but the song is good overall. At least verses are kinda sweet. Bush is not going back to their old sound, get over it and it won't hurt. I'm a massive fan of Razorblade Suitcase, but Rossdale's almost 50... we can expect good songs from him, not another Comedown nor another Greedy Fly. 'The Sea of Memories' was terribly bad in my opinion, but hopefully this new album is going to be a bit better. Honestly, it's not their old school sound what I miss, but Nigel's guitar!

Rehashed lyrics and guitars, this just feels so lazy. This Bush 'reunion' hit a new low. I don't think anyone expects the riffs of Sixteen Stone or edge of Razorblade Suitcase, but some kind of excitement would have been nice.

I would like to formally nominate Bush for not only the Nickleback award for softest bullshitrock song of the year, but also the Chinese Democracy award for worst comeback of the year! How could you have been sitting in the studio listening to this shit play back and be like "Yeah, that's it!" I heard of losing your edge, but you fucking strangled your edge, lit it on fire and threw it down an empty well. 0/10.
@xtal2381

Way too weak for me. It's desperately missing Nigel Pulsford. Only some bands evolve over time, changing their style, improving their sound, their song writing and manage to do it without becoming worse. I'm sorry to say that Bush are NOT one of those bands. It's a shame as I was a massive fan back in the day. Oh well, I'll go back and listen to the first two albums again.

Stop the grunge! Grunge is not coming back. Deal with it. Disco had it's day and now its over same with grunge. Imo grunge isn't even a sound. It's an image. AIC, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden..considered grunge..each have their own sound. "Grunge" isn't real.
