One of the simplest breakfast recipes to cook on a campfire is sausage gravy. Biscuits can be somewhat challenging at times but with practice, you can make those little badgers perfect every time. The method I've chosen here for cooking the biscuits is pretty straightforward and the heat source I've used is Esbit tabs. It takes about 2 Esbit tabs for the baking. Keep in mind that this depends a lot on the weather and how wet your biscuit dough is. My stove set up is a Bushcooker that I place a lit Esbit tab inside. Then I place a heat shield on top followed by my pot with the biscuits. Keep in mind that my biscuits are elevated by a rolled up piece of aluminum foil that's been shaped into a snake. Between the heat deflector and the elevated biscuits, there are less chances of the bottoms of the biscuits becoming burned. I then place a stone on top of the biscuit pot then place a larger pot over the top of that. All this helps to retain the heat like an oven and there is no need to place coals on top of the pot.
