a trick everyone can do when doing joinery like this is to make a split on the end of the inserting rod, right down the middle, then put a small triangular shaped "expander" in the split of the inserting rod, and when it is rammed down in the receiving wood, it will create pressure and expand inside, thus ensuring even more stability rather than just friction.

Really cool table !! As its your idea to get your cooking area organised maybe add some protruding (idk the word :/) sticks where you hang cuttlery/pan/... small items that dont take op space on your working surface. That way you can cut/ prep food and have your essentials closeby hanging somewhere at a side of the table? IDK just an idea :D nice work! Love your video's !!

I found with brace and bit boring that you shouldn't have to push on it like that, the bit should be doing all the work and the worm should pull it through. If it is that hard work the bit probably needs sharpening and the worm needs cleaning off.
