I’ve been a mechanic for 43 years and all this bullshit don’t make cars better glad I’m almost finished with this shit

Not sure if BMW are the same but from my time with Toyota, if we didn’t have a sensor in stock or customer didn’t want to pay for a new one, if you deflate the tyre completely and pump it back up, it can ‘wake’ the sensor up again, it’s only a temporary fix but definitely helpful for people going for their annual inspection 😁

If the other 3 sensors date from 2016 ? they will soon follow the faulty one , perhaps in this case the BMW dealer was looking long term ?

Yep absolutely shocking, so hard to keep these modern cars to the speed limit, plus half the time you get taken over on people on electric mountain bikes 😂😂😂😂

I bet there is a massive market. In reconditioned milk floats 20 mph.

Baz, you’ll get used to it, honest. Coming from Germany where basically anywhere suburban has an 18mph limit it shocks me when I return to the UK and see how fast people drive round suburbs and villages. Anyway great video

I think that Launch TPMS sensor comes with a plastic washer... but I found a LOT don't... even genuine items. Then the aluminium / steel bolt corrodes onto the wheel... after it gouged up the factory paint... because there is no washer 🙄🙄

Might save money for the customer short term but when the other sensors fail, the customer will have to pay again to get a new sensor and pay for them to get fitted again...

They calibrate faster if you can create indifference in wheel speed I.e cornering speed hasn't got much to do with it. Ex bmw tech, 1 hour diag + sensor repair kit probably £300 at main dealer.
