This video was recorded in connection with a Danish entomological expedition to northern Thailand in August and September 2011.
Nymphalidae is one of the largest butterfly families in the world with over 6000 different species. Most species are of medium size varying from a wingspan of 25 millimeters to more than 200 millimeters. Nymphalidaes is known for the fact, that both sexes have only four functioning legs, with front legs reduced to small appendages without claws.
