Wow just received the S12 today. I’m no audiophile and will not go into technical details but damn planar magnetic is something else. Best way I can describe the sound signature is fluffy, airy, floaty, weightless and effortless. Even though the sound stage is not that wide but somehow it still feels like a live band is playing in a floaty way inside your head and I just love it. The tuning is exactly what I am looking for and I have no trouble with the treble and it fits perfectly and comfortably in my ears. Black Friday deals for $120 and I don’t think you can get anything better at this price point. It is really that special just like you said and everyone needs to experience it!

that's the problem with the lower end chi-fi market. They're just churning these things out trying to undercut the next best thing. By the time you spend $80 here, $100 there, $200 over there you could have saved up all that money and bought a competent mid tier IEM. Everyone is going to be different but you should figure out how much you're willing to spend and figure out your end game and save up for it over spending money on the next best low end release.

Had these for a week. They have very very low distortion which means I could EQ the hell out of them without hearing any distortion. So I could shape the sound to what I like according to the genre, something that is not possible with many other IEMs because those will suffer from distortion. Also, the S12 has a bit of that electrostatic sound to it, nimble, super fast transient, super fast decay, clean, transparent. When the bass hit, it’s more like a hit by Bruce Lee than a gorilla, fast, incisive, focused but not as weighty or rich as DD. All in all, excellent value for the money. The best bang for the buck, even more so than the likes of T3+ or Aria, with technicalities miles ahead. It’s high end sound (organic, refined, pure) at a low price.

How about the comfortable fit? My ears are quite small, so I am afraid of the size. Even though it is smaller than the timeless. Moreover, I prefer MMCX connector because it is tight. Is 2 pin really strong? If it is , I will buy this set. Thank you for your advices.
@zeissiez
2 жыл бұрын
@@Nok-wj7fl it’s my most comfortable set, because they are the smallest and there are no sharp edges. The insertion is not too deep. As for 2-pin, it’s quite secure, but I prefer to keep them in a soft case before putting in the pocket of my jeans to avoid damaging the pins. I think MMCX is tougher. But if you change cable often, 2-pin is better, because while you could damage the pins on the cable easily but you can’t damage the holes in the IEMs.
@Soundoverload

@@Nok-wj7fl I also have smaller ears and they fit me great - and they sound great yes. But The Tripowin Mele fit me even better and therefore you could also consider their new Tripowin Olina which has the same housing as the Mele.

It may be one of the more EQ-able IEM's out there. With this type of flexibility and performance, it really is a great IEM and killer for the price point. Not perfect...maybe not as refined as the 7Hz...but standing very tall at its price point. No regrets buying this one, even if I pulled the trigger just before buying the Olina. With a $250 budget and the choice of only 1 IEM...this one would be on my personal list of plausible contenders.

Hi! Enjoy your videos and many thanks for the work you put in. Would like to ask a quick opinion/reco. I daily drive a 7hz Zero and Tangzu Wan'er. Also use a Hifiman HE400SE and M40x (in case that helps the discussion). Music is mainly forms of rock (indie, alt, shoegaze, pop punk, jrock), instrumental (math rock, prog rock/metal, jazz fusion), indie/jazzy/bluesy/chill pop, and occasionally some hiphop (specifically Kendrick/Kanye/early Drake). So a majority is music with instruments (as opposed to more electronic things). Looking for an upgrade on the technicalities front - imaging, separation, resolution, clarity. Really enjoy the tuning of the 7hz Zero and Wan'er. I can currently get a Hexa for $90, which would've been my insta-pick (Zero Red didn't seem like it would've been a big enough upgrade - can get it for $60 by the way) buuuuut, i can get an S12 for $100. Is the S12 too good of a deal to pass up? I feel like i will prefer the Hexa tuning more, but i believe the S12 is a considerable step up in technicals. And i would also be open to try out the different tuning of the S12, in addition to the better technical performance. What you think? 😅 Thanks!!!
