@KiwiCarLife it still vibrates when sitting in gear even after getting genuine honda mounts put in. I'm starting to wonder if it's in need of a valve clearance/adjustment. I can't blame the car too much tho at 301,000kms, and still chugging along. BTW I'm a do it myself guy most of the time like you. I always like seeing your time-lapses of when you detail a car. I've never driven a Mazda 6 before, but you should try a higher-spec Mazda 3 with that same NA 2.3L, or even the 2.5L from the later models. The bigger engine, along with being smaller, lighter, having sportier suspension and more aggressive throttle mapping, make them quite fun to drive. I've owned a 2009 Mazda 3 SP25 (top-spec model with the 2.5L) for the last 3.5 years, and I've really enjoyed it. But recently I decided it was time to move onto bigger and better things, so I bought my cousin's 2004 Subaru Legacy 3.0R wagon (thanks to your videos for convincing me), and I love it even more 😅

@KiwiCarLife my sister has the SP23 and man they are a joy to drive, a very good competitor to the Accord euro. it's nice to be able to compare the 2 of them myself. The SP23 has much more of a sporty ride and and throttle response and it certainly makes the Accord seem more noticeable towards the luxury market. Which isn't the case nowadays in the tuning scene.

I really can’t support a person that would knowingly drive a dangerous and unroadworthy car from Auckland to Wellington to make a buck. You should seriously reconsider how you go about things, it probably wouldn’t have cost any more to hire a car trailer and safely transport the car back down.
@KiwiCarLife
18 күн бұрын
@@TheCubicnz thanks for the feedback. If the car had failed the WOF for a multitude of things that rendered it dangerous then I could understand your concern, however the WOF at the time of driving down was expired by just one week. Once I got it down it failed on old rear tyres (tread was fine) and cloudy headlights. Hardly “dangerous”. @@KiwiCarLifeyou put too much faith in a little sticker. I didn’t mention the WOF, that car was obviously unsafe based on the engine being insecure. @@TheCubicnz sad times, cool project that blade! Would have loved to drive it. Believe me, if I thought the car was unsafe, I wouldn’t have driven it down. I may not be a qualified mechanic, but I know how engine mounts work. There’s a bolt through the middle holding it on, it’s the rubber bushing that perished. Impossible for the engine to fall out! It was just unrefined because it wasn’t being damped. In the same way if your shocks are worn out, it affects the ride and handling, but your suspension isn’t going to just fall out.
