Tia's home tank has been mentioned too many times for us not to see it. So Tia please, tank tour, let us know what's up with it and what your vision and philosophy is for reef keeping. Please and thank you! Or start a channel, I'd sub.

continuation of last post anyway I put the other part matching pump and matching length of our ODI tubing and ran it outside of my window the one from the 20 gallon hex tank goes into the final chamber of my sump. Put it on a timer and it changes 3 gallons of water every day. Whatever's going out is coming back in with freshwater and I don't have $30 tied up in it. I use calculus or in my RODI take care of my Alkalinity. I have beautiful Coraline algae growth, great coral growth , Healthy fish I don't have $3000 in my whole system and that is including the 220 gallon reefer ready tank in the living room. I can imagine that this Apex system is nice but there is a lot more things that I would rather spend my money on. I love The hobby but I refuse to bankrupt myself for something that has so many variables. I learned years ago to just keep things simple no matter what it is. The more complicated and the more complex it is some more things can go wrong. Just my opinion

Dam! 3k like it aint nothin. I dont think I have 3k in my whole 75g system. Still running old school Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper Lite controller I traded for the cheap LED Marineland light I got with the 75g tank. Apex and Trident dreams.

Would it be possible to have a video that outlines what each bit does. I'm looking at getting an apex but I cant find a clear guide to which modules do what, most cost effective way to get started etc. For a controller noob like me apex can be a little confusing when choosing what to buy for our needs.

I see these people spending thousands and thousands of dollars for all this high-tech equipment. I don't understand unless you have money to burn. I bought two small pumps put one into a 20 gallon hexagon tank with a heater and filled it with fresh salt water. put the exact same size pole same length tubing into the sam

@@raysun1204 TBH ive had more problems with my automated systems, than regular old dosing.. no word of a lie. I have the full GHL suite minus the ion director. I have one system with ghl, one system without... guess which one has been running fine? the one without. Just a doser. Yes, i have SPS and plenty. I've spent a lot of time configuring the GHL system, don't get me wrong, i think i'll be able to push the envelope with the GHL tank vs the other one. It is a steep price for this "stuff" when you can get $10 ce smart plugs..... I bought the GHL stuff because i like playing with electronics too. Just everything is stupidly expensive. $1200 CAD for lights, just ridiculous. They should be half the price. Its almost like coral prices.

@@boomcar911 I agree this is an expensive hobby. to me, spending $1000 on a bounce mushroom or a couple hundred dollars for a single head of zoa is expensive, or having a $200 dollar steak is expensive, but a $1200 controller is not, especially your whole system is worth way more than that, you can use it for like 2 years and sell it for half the value, that's like a dollar a day. you probably don't NEED it but again, do we NEED the expensive marketed corals? probably not.
