Interesting story here with your machine. Glad you got your money back out of it without any major mishaps.

Haha same here! Someday there will be a nicer one, although recently prices have been outrageous.

Good deal man. I went through the same motions just about. A ton of chances/ machines came up but it just didn't work in my favor price wise or actual usage to make it worth it. Maybe I could've done the same and sold for same price after my work, but calculating maintenance, time to learn the machine, and selling it before something were to happen, tough decisions.

Exactly, you definitely need to have a lot of projects lined up to justify it, or be willing to use it as a side job. We have the projects, but since we’re also trying to build debt-free, it was a lot of risk tied up into one tool. I still love heavy equipment though.. so one day with less giant future expenses I will be able to play around with another! -Alex

Did you know about how worn out the linkages were on the bucket before buying it? If so, was it much a factor when purchasing one of these or was the main factor price point?

Yep I did see the wear while looking at it, but it's not uncommon for a machine of this age. Price point was the largest factor, I knew I was buying it at what is essentially the price floor for a machine of this size (as long as it runs and operates). -Alex
