I don't give a darn for a pristine comic book; give me a well-loved copy anytime!

Another great idea for a video Leo! I'm in your side of the debate, low grades is better than no grades. As long as a book is complete, doesn't smell too bad, I'm fine with paying less if it enables me to read a book that might be out of my budget otherwise. However, I do have a pet peeve with tape on comics. I prefer to have detached pages or cover free than have tape holding them together. But that's just me, to each his own! You did very, very well with that $20! Two Silver Age books (and giant-sized ones at that!), two Bronze Age books, and a Copper Age one. Sweet! I have that Batman Annual, but only in reprint form. DC published a couple of hadcovers volumes a few years ago reprinting all those early Batman Annuals. But nothing beats holding the original comic book, the feel and smell of the paper, the old vintage ads...

I love to hold and read the originals now matter how worn they are Ranger Sly! I actually enjoy low grade books more at times as I do not have to fear damaging them. They have a rustic and vintage appeal like you said. Thank you for your comment and watching as I tried a new style of episode. I'll probably record another of its kind. Hope you are doing well.

Hey Leo! Great finds for $20! I try and start out with a budget 😅 but my LCS always has enticing issues that make me dip in for a little more than I planned 😂 I really liked those DC Annuals - so many great stories/artwork I can't get over those Batman Adventures. Thank you so much for the shout out! I really appreciate it. While I've already recorded the next few vids I'll happily return the favor in a future episode 👍 Thanks again for sharing!

Thank you for watching! I know the feeling, when one sees that one book going for a little extra and you really want it. It can be tough. You are welcome for the shout out! A return shout out is neither expected nor required as it was my pleasure. I really like your overviews and how you document each book visually! You will go down as a historian great of comic books when paper ceases to exist!

This Batman Annual #2 is loaded with great artwork! I’m impressed with the art on the sinking ship page. Nice detail! I rather spend 5.00 any day for a low grade SilverAge comic than spend 5.00 for new piece of comic book garbage. Great score!

Thank you for watching Captain! I got lucky on those worn out books! Thank you teaching me the art of using archival mending tissue to repair reader comics!

Great video TTC! Neat idea and you got some swell reads. That Avengers 96, part of the Kree Skrull War storyline, is one of my favorites. You mentioned mending tape, and Capt Strangelife mentions it as well, where do you get that at? I see some on Amazon and I guess it’s the same stuff. I’ve never used it before.

Thank you for watching Lead Paint! I really like Neal Adam's artwork for Marvel, particularly on the Kree Skrull War story. Sharp art! The mending tape can be purchased on Amazon or Walmart. It is pH neutral and transparent and different from any other tape as it is more of tissue. It comes in a roll and you can peel back and cut as much as you need. I use it only for low grade books as Captainstrangelife introduced it to me. It's considered to be "non-restorative" by CGC. Holy Scotch Tape Batman! Your 'mending' tape looks suspiciously like Scotch tape. Which would make a horrible repair even for a low grade book. If there is a mending tape I don't know about I may have to do a Google search and pick up a roll. But if it's just plain old tape I recommend you doing a Google search for acid free artist tape. It won't be transparent, but at least it won't yellow and eat through your comic. -Still, that Batman Giant was a great find for $5. I have a Golden Age Star Spangled Comics with the Guardian and the Newsboy Legion in worse shape than yours, but it's my comic I treasure! Try a search for "What is Acid free tape" to link an interesting article on subject.

That is the everlasting quest to find good tape Dendood! The mending tape when pressed onto the paper becomes somewhat transparent but I agree that it is not the perfect solution. It happens to be acid free but it is not clear. I'll keep checking what is on the market. As for the books, they are reader copies anyways. I just want them to feel like books without pages chipping or coming out entirely- that's where the tape comes in. Just for my own enjoyment and not to be traded or sold. Thank you for watching!

🖐🤓 Byeing time to travel with Leo to $pend 20 dollars on low grade comic books! 🤔Low grade? Like report card low grade , D's and Fs? ☝🤓Yes , Ds for Delightfulls and Fs for Funtastics , doesn't matter if the books are coverless or have tape , rusty or multiple staples , chips , etc as long as they're readable they're enjoyable! I too enjoy Deep Dives channel Leo and I highly recommended the Shortyverse channel. Shortyverse presents 2-3 minute films that reimagines Marvel and DC heroes as 1920s adventurers 👍!
