I need to get me 1 just for concealed carry. In SA protestors attacked a motorist with bricks and he unfortunately put 1 of them 6 feet under and injured 3 more. Guess what? Case of murder and attempted murder awaits the poor soul. Too much red tape with real steel. Byrna could've save a lot heartache in that instance...💯

Interesting…I’m disappointed in the SD numbers compared to the EP. Wish Byrna would be more transparent with real numbers on these things. The EP marketed as the entry level option is hitting harder, go figure. Still love my SD with the tritium sights though. Great video, keep making us Byrna content

That’s why I bought the EP, they’re the same, you’re just paying for a safety instead lol. If that’s important for you then I guess it’s worth it

I recall seeing a Memorial Day sale email from Byrna stating their SD was “Re-engineered for optimal performance”. If that’s true im sure any improvements made would also be seen in the EP. Now I’m curious if any Byrna SD/EP purchased after memorial performs better than ones purchased prior.

Honestly this is the first I’ve heard of that , thanks for sharing that could maybe explain why there’s a small boost in power with the first shot in the EP prepared to my sd .

@@RapidAssaultDefense I asked Byrna about it and they said nothing was re-engineered and it’s the same technology. However interesting Choice of words on their part for that advertisement email.

I have. A question. I been thinking of the SD or EP . But if a 300 lbs man is coming at you 1/2 crazy would this stop him enough for you to get away . Now I have S&W shield 9mm . But living in NY self defense with deadly force is illegal. No matter what . And also pepper balls illegal in NY Thank you

@stevealoia not telling you to do this … but if he came at me I’m going for the face .. when you fight fare you may not win , as some ex military in my family always told me , if you get attacked never fight fare. And they were right

Thats odd that your numbers on your SD are so low. On my Hi Viz I get same numbers as the EP. My first shot is 305-310 and my fifth shot is 299-304 depending on the outdoor temps when I'm shooting. The more I'm seeing on the EP, the more I'm thinking I might want to get one since I don't need to pull once on safety then switch to live fire. That 2-3 seconds to do that could be the difference between getting off that first shot before they do. I still want to eventually get the TCR version for home defense, that or the Umarex 40 Joule 16 shot shottie which would be half the price, but then you're stuck using an 88 gram CO2 that is an all or nothing usage and 88 gram CO2 cartridges are kinda expensive where as the TCR is more expensive upfront, but uses the 12 gram and are cheaper in the long run. Which to choose LoL 👀

@joreel true , so here’s the one thing I don’t like about umarex shotguns , even know I would own one absolutely, the thing I hate is when that detent goes bad your screwed ….because you can’t change the detents in those from what I’ve been told . On the other hand I can get 2 pack 90 gram JT co2 for $15.99 at a store in state next to me which is cheap but the TCR you can swap out the detents I believe they take the FA-18 may have that backwards but I stocked up on them , and takes 12gram co2 50 pack umarex $29.99 on Amazon and you can adjust the velocity also the side rails I believe you can buy black ones for like $3.00 on a site also all black butstock can’t remember that price but it’s cheap also when you buy the TCR comes with 2 year warranty from byrna so if you pay for extended 5 year warranty you’d have I believe. And if you use that 15% off code they sent out you get a good deal on it when it’s on sale and use code

@@RapidAssaultDefense Where I live you can get two 88 gram cartages for $18.95, but for that price I can get twenty 12 gram cartages. I hadn't heard about the decant issue on the Umarex, that's not good. I think I'll do some more research into the decant issue and see if it's a widespread issue or a a rare manufacturing one. Either way I think I'll look into getting the EP next time Byrna has a decent sale on them... probably Black Friday with my luck LOL. Thanks for making these videos for us, they're very helpful.

On the SD you don’t have to pull once on the safety either and then switch to live, you can just shoot with the safety off and start firing right away just like the EP

There’s few things byrnas working on I heard to improve the LE in January one thing it won’t have that 12 gram adapter on it the newer version will look just like the SD the other thing is the fps will be more steady as it drops with slightly longer barrel that’s why I’m waiting on the LE
