Is there any way to debug the code (e.g putting breakpoints) if the project had been imported as Makefile?

I normally use multilanguage projects (mix of C++ Python Java .. LaTeX ), so I create generic eclipse project. And then I manually create Makefile to make all things go. But how can I add language "nature" for generic project ? For example I create my "lexical skeleton" set of files: src.src log.log ypp.ypp (syntax parser) lpp.lpp (lexer) hpp.hpp cpp.cpp Makefile and want then Eclipse automatically add C++ natute but It did not do it.

Dr Fraser, thank you for the video but, you know, as long as I have your attention, I've developed a pain in my elbow and wonder if you can prescribe something..?
