There are days when one finds true treasures discarded after years of generous dedication as an everyday object. In this case it is a wooden armchair with deteriorated legs, loose springs, wood with various repaints, broken and dirty upholstery.
It is a process that requires above all patience. First we have to remove the paints that hide the quality of the wood, the old upholstery, the broken burlap and the many out of place studs.
The springs must be secured with wide jute strips and sewn with rope in order to prevent the springs from coming out again.
Once the wood has been cleaned and sanded, I have treated it with natural wax, thereby making the wood look and shine.
With the new upholstery we can enjoy the beauty of this armchair that will come in handy for future photoshoots, set designs and more.
Do not hesitate to go into the restoration and recycling. It is a way of recreating time, care and the art of sustainability.
