Park at Point of Rocks at a small lot off Commerce Street, it is near the Point of Rocks Tunnel, and towpath access. You will be able to get onto the C&O bike trail from here.
This bike tour is from C&O Canal Lock 29 to Lock 33
You might be able to see the American bald eagle soaring lazily over the towpath.
Seeing an eagle soar you can understand why the Founding Fathers chose it to represent the strength and courage of our great nation
The Point of Rocks Railroad Station, considered one of the most picturesque railroad depots in the nation, The C&O Canal Company and its arch-rival, the B&O Railroad, we're sure that both a canal and a railroad wouldn't fit there. Which one would get the land needed for their project? Who would decide? After 4 years the decision by the courts was made that they would have to share the land. They managed to squeeze a canal and railroad into this narrow strip. It still didn't quite fit. Had to build the tunnel.
There are Lock houses along the way to rent if you want to stay overnight.

You will go through Brunswick, Maryland which is a nice place to ride around and see multiple painted murals. You will be riding on the road up and down hills.

In the early 1700s, the region was known as “Eel town” or “Eel Pot” because the Native Americans fished for eel in the Potomac River *three murals * Brunswick named after a German town by german immigrants
We will end the tour in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
1859, abolitionist John Brown marched his “army of liberation” down the C&O Canal towpath and crossed the B&O Railroad Bridge into Harpers Ferry to raid the federal armory.
This is the historic town of Harpers Ferry, much of which is part of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is a must-see for history buffs!
